Opinion: Elementalist shouldn't have Snap Freeze as a talent

I feel like Elementalist already freezes and cripples a team easily. With the current PvP setup (most times) you can’t even allow the AI to have one single turn before being looped to death. So why does a class that already immobilizes a team so easily have even more access to completely ruin a match before a single turn is taken? Elementalist makes every other class completely irrelevant. Thoughts on this?

Not true. There’s plenty of troops, classes or weapons to counter easily.

Besides, every unnecessary nerf so far has cost the game a lot of players and each new unnecessary nerf will do the same …

How would removing snap freeze from a class that already freezes so easily ruin the game? If so, then every other class needs a serious buff because as of now, there are zero classes that even come close to what Elementalist does.

I use Nightweaver as much too. Also Frost Mage is a very good class. And a few others as well. No need to pick WoS and Elementalist in every battle.

Therefore there’s no need for a nerf. Maybe a buff on some classes instead. But not for a nerf.

If I were looking to remove a particular talent from Elementalist as to “balance the game better”, I’d be inclined to look at the Stone tree (Rock Solid / Fortitude) before I removed Snap Freeze.

I suspect Elementalist would be a bit less popular if it were vulnerable to all the fun stuff it dishes out, and I’ll stand by that even with Curse being a much more common status effect these days and therefore de-valuing Fortitude / Impervious to some degree.

Yes Frostmage, a class literally built around freezing can’t even come close to the freeze capabilities of Elementalist. I hate nerfs as well, but this class has been an issue way before WoS was even introduced. I also use different classes like Archmagus and Orbweaver. All of them can be rendered useless with one 4+ match of Elementalist.
