i have just used gems to unlock all the rewards only showing a small section because it gets cut off.
i havnt got the other rewards to the right of the check mark. now the 200 gems that i spent are pretty much nothing to me at this point in the game. but i would have thought using the gems skips the prerequisite for number of wins. please let me know if i am mistaken

in the center of both paid and free rewards is a 20 gems button
It appears so. If you don’t buy the medallion, you can’t collect the bottom path - and the gem option isn’t visible. I assume this is so that the people who paid real $$$ never miss rewards if they don’t win enough battles, they can top up with gems.
