[not a bug] Suncrest team bonus wrong

Platform, device version and operating system:
PS5

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
I was expecting to receive a bigger bonus in each applicable stat for having more team members with the same type. I have a team with 3 stryx type troops, and I was comparing using elementalist vs stormcaller (which makes my hero a stryx). When I switch to stormcaller, I have 4 stryx and get a better bonus overall, but my armour bonus decreases, which seems wrong. Why do I get less armour for having 4 the same than for having 3 the same??

I don’t know if this happens with other troops types, as this is the only time I’ve seen it happen and noticed it.

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
Every time. Unknown.

Steps to make it happen again
Make a team with 3 stryx and then add a 4th.

Your armour can decrease when you change classes, relating to the bonuses applied from that (if one class is further levelled than the other, how you have selected the skills in the skill tree etc. Lots of variables there..

As for the 4 unique troops vs the 3, the Stormcaller class makes the Hero a Stryx troop, whereas Elementalist obviously doesn’t

Was just waiting to hear back from the team, in the midst of a discussion around the Duke of Eagles bonus and the Kingdom bonus’

That was why I was showing a stryx troop, not my own armour. It’s specifically the stryx bonus that drops, and I showed the bonuses and the effect it has on that troop’s armour.

Both were at level 100, and nothing in their trees should be affecting an ally stryx’s armour.

Yes? That was my point. I’m confused what you’re pointing out here.
I changed to a different class to increase and decrease the number of stryx on the team. While changing back and forth between 3 and 4 stryx, the other stats increase when there are 4, armour increases when there are 3. That seems wrong.

Having more of the same type should increase stats, not decrease them.

Fair enough, hope this gets fixed, but it’s probably not urgent. Unless it’s part of a bigger problem, and stats are being calculated wrong in general, or something.

Was more just explaining as I went through in case other people looked at this, and yeah someone is looking into it but no further info so far!

Heard back from the production team, and heard back:

We noticed that the Tier V Kingdom team bonus for 'Attack' Kingdoms didn't look correct when going from 3 Troops from the Kingdom to 4 Troops from the Kingdom.
 - This was because the 3 Troop bonus was gave a little extra Armor and a little less Attack.
 - When moving to a 4 Troop bonus it gave more Attack and less Armor.
 - The numbers balanced out correctly but looked strange the Armor bonus went down, while the Attack bonus jumped up sharply.

We are leaving the 4 Troop bonus as is, because that works. But we are changing the 3 Troop bonus to have a little less Armor and a little more Attack so that the scaling looks better.

Beware of your wishes xD now we have a decrease of stat at tier 3 instead of increasing on tier 4 xDD

I mean, at least the numbers will make sense, but I’d rather have the tier 4 just keep the armour bonus from tier 3 and not decrease, plus everything else stay the same.
Guess that’ll teach me to report bugs. :man_facepalming:

I don’t get your point. Tier 4 stays as it is, tier 3 gets improved, that feels like a good outcome to me.

defence on T3 now is too high and will be decreasing)

The solution they decided on is nerfing tier 3 only. Not improving it.

I’m confused why this is marked “not a bug” instead of “resolved”. Firstly, you agreed it was a “bug” in the sense it wasn’t supposed to be like that, and have decided to change it. Secondly, marking “not a bug” implies it won’t have a change, which I’m fine with, but that feels confusing.

I agreed it was a bug on my initial investigation, while the thread was still marked as investigating.

Then after following up with what I found with the dev and Production team, they confirmed it is not actually a bug.

The thread is marked, not a bug, as it was reported as a bug initially. It is not any indication of something not being actioned, purely for other people reading the headings of threads to know, the thread and it’s report is not a bug,

OK.
Just curious. If they say it’s not “a bug”, what would they term it as, given they’re apparently agreeing it’s not the way that should work, and it needs changing?
I assume there’s some other name they use for stuff like this, where there’s something wrong with the game, but they don’t consider it “a bug”.

EDIT: Also, just so you know, I’m pretty sure most people on the forum believe that if a bug report gets marked “not a bug”, that means it’s not getting actioned. So, it’s good to know that isn’t what you mean by that tag. It could have been made clearer in the past, maybe. Thanks.

And attack is now too low and will be increasing. Given the choice between armor and attack, I believe most players will quite happily pick more firepower to finish battles faster.
