[Not a Bug] Shatter Earth and special gems

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
Shatter Earth is the simple gem-destroying skill that haven’t any restrictions. Hadn’t, before special gems was introduced. For some mysterious reason I cannot select any special gem as point of blast.

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
I just noticed it when started to use Obsidius regularly. I think, it works this way since special gems was introduced.

Steps to make it happen again

  • Use Shatter Earth.
  • Observe dimmed and non-selectable special gems.

Its not just that one, I can’t target anything on those gems. Its very infuriating when I want to hit a specific patch with something.

Though I probably only saw it on Obsidius.

Its a selection thing, we can’t target them with a transform (which makes sense) but for simple “this area” type things then we should be allowed.

Can confirm it’s across the board — Sledgepaw has the same problem.

Same for weapons like Sky Hero. Gem selection should probably distinguish between two cases:

  • Select a position, e.g. to mark a row to be destroyed (no restriction)
  • Select a characteristic, e.g. a gem color to be converted (restriction based on effect)
