[Not a bug] Cannot start GoW

Platform, device version and operating system:
iPhone, iOS, 18.5

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
Closed game and restarted following daily reset. Got this error message. Tried joining via wifi and 5G, but same result. Deleted app and reinstalled, same issue. Been more than an hour now.

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?

Close app, try to restart app.

Further to the above, I am getting the same error on PC/Steam.

This rather sounds like the DNS server you are using is having issues. Maybe try if switching to a different one helps, e.g. 8.8.8.8 from Google.

I know someone in Canada who is able to log in just fine.

How does one go about doing this on either iPhone or PC/Steam (without VPN)?

I added a secondary DNS server (the Google one) to my modem and now I can get in.

No idea how much light that sheds on the underlying problem, though.

If you are connecting via Ethernet, type “Ethernet settings” into your Windows search field, then edit DNS server assignment.

IPv6 ?

….then enter 8.8.8.8 into Preferred DNS or Alternate DNS

….then opt for DNs over HTTPS or not?

Try Alternate DNS, for now. If that doesn’t work, then make it your preferred DNS, etc.

Basically, change as little as is needed to make it work. :slight_smile:

Thanks to both of you. Used DNS 8.8.8.8 on IPv4 and got the daily PvP Gold Marks, then reverted settings.

Will wait until they acknowledge the issue and fix it such that it can again be played on mobile.

It’s not a Gems of War issue. Some small part of the Internet in the area you are located in is confused about how to reach the Gems of Wars server. Probably just some corrupted buffer that will eventually refresh itself.
