The german translation is pretty bad.
It is just a 1:1 translations. The word joke is completly messed up.
The joke was a reference to baguette. If you want to transform it better to not use the german translation of bag and eight. In german the pet was named “Beutel” “Acht”. Baguette is also known in german.
A better but certainly not the best name could be better “Back Acht”.
Just my 50 cent.

Maybe just “B-acht-ette”, keeping the reference to the 8th anniversary and sounding more like “baguette”, which you say is known in German
