Treasure hunts also give gems, though. And beginners usually also need those. Or at least I did when I was new, and the traitstones were a nice bonus.

In addition to gems, maps are also a reliable way to farm glory efficiently if you don’t have high tributes and a fast pvp team yet, for being able to buy more weekly glory troops, and the volume of traitstones that come with them
