New Dungeon Screenshots & Discussion Thread

People are aware of that Devs may make everything look even more like a soup based of the datas and experiences players are giving in this very thread?

Ofc it is “random enough” as it is as there is players that is still at ZERO perfect runs.

That would mean the forum mods went out of their way to ensure the dungeon probability is as bad as mathematically possible for the players:surely they are not that kind of people right?

…right?

I don’t know about you, but I always fear that they base any changes on the 1 % of player that already got 9-10 perfect runs. And forget about the rest of us.

I’m more concerned about the supposedly fair door algorithm having secret biases that guarantee some door opening strategies can’t ever result in a perfect run. Like, it’s impossible to get the extra reward by always picking the doors in reading order, and there’s no way a normal player could know this. It makes me wonder how rigged other, more complicated to analyze parts of the game (like loot boxes) might actually be, if even this simple mini game can’t be trusted.

It is possible to get dragonite this way, but it only happens if 1,2 or 3 contains two bosses + the special and then 4 is the last boss.
The odds for this are very small since usually the non-trap doors are 4 & 5.

:exploding_head: crazy find, I’ll try to incorporate this, but I think I need to start from scratch.

Is this generalised form correct?

Any door still in play:

  • Must have at least one card still in play that excludes that door, otherwise the door is considered orphaned.
  • Orphaned doors will be assigned an exclusion-card from the cards still in play.
  • The exclusion-card assigned to the orphaned door is always the one that does not exclude any of the other doors still in play?
  • There can never be more than one orphaned door?

Yes, this is a good point. What’s the best way to display this? All three odds (trap/boss/good cards) on the door? Just trap/boss? I’m thinking just trap/boss at the moment.

What I initially wanted was to swap the labels automatically based on time/date and let people fix the labels themselves if their clocks are wildly off or the GoW server is slow or if it accounts differently for winter/summer time than expected.

I can still do that, I just figured people would get more annoyed at wrong labels than at generic labels :sweat_smile:

Let me know what you think.

I think I want to add a small compendium of generalised rules at the bottom of the page, so other people can go ahead and make their own tools.

I’m currently workin on it if there is an exception of this rule, but I doubt there will be.
I’ll try to explain it:

A=1
B=2
C=3
D=4
E=5
F=6

As long as you get 3 different numbers out of 2 Doors, you can exclude the remaining door by looking at their permutation and what’s leftover. This works for every pattern and continues with the 4th door to be opened.
i.e.

2nd Pick:
A(1) is in 4
D(4) can not be in 1

3rd Pick:
A(1) is in 4 and
D(4) is in 6
F(6) can not be in 1

4th Pick:
A(1) is in 4
D(4) is in 6
E(5) is in 1
F(6) can not be in 5

5th Pick:
A(1) is in 4
D(4) is in 6
E(5) is in 1
B(2) is in 5
F(6) can not be in 2

[E: Scrap that, only works part-time, will look again some time this weekend]

Here’s a test version (odor2) adding the ‘no orphans’ rule and some additional changes. This needs to be thoroughly tested because the internals have changed and I can’t be bothered testing myself :stuck_out_tongue:

I probably messed something up.

The older version can be found here: odor.

The labels should switch automatically around reset time to that day’s setup. If not, just use the links below.

I tried a bunch of things with the boss/traps display, but they all ended up being more confusing than helpful. So for the time being, there’ll just be a boss/trap counter.

I mean full teams, not only the bosses?

Trap in 2: 118x
Trap in 3: 108x
Trap in 4: 61x

You could probably check Tacet’s streams for the full team of each boss daily.

Third perfect run.

The good news: I had a good feeling it was 5.

The bad news: 3 didn’t want to show up. It went back to 4,5. My 50/50 would have been 2 and 3 and I would have guessed wrong even if I started with 4.
