When you hit level 500, your Hero turns Mythic

I don’t believe that’s necessarily true. I just turned level 500 and my hero isn’t mythic. Maybe it’s a stat thing??? Can anyone else confirm this? Is it level 500 or some other determining factor?
Level 501 makes your Hero Mythic, not 500.
