What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
I played 12th level Explore, and got Mimics instead boss chess. Ok, I killed the mimics, and got… 4 tokens of Gaard.
Well, reward is doubled, but 2 tokens of Gaard for L12? I never experienced this in explore, I think. Can it be the lowest possible outcome?
How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
I just encountered mimics the first time.
This table shows the difficult and what token rewards are possible. At 12 difficulty you get 2-3 tokens and there is an 18% chance for each that they can be tokens of Gaard. Nothing amiss here.
So it’s 3% chance for getting 2 Gaard tokens multiplied on 1/2 chance to get only 2 of them. Very low, but possible random. Thank you, that’s what I wanted to know.
