Because as was mentioned, multipliers like from your armor are calculated after the bonus amount was added.
So if you have Dragon armor on and normal difficulty. The match is worth 500 and you earn 100 in the battle, you final amount will be 100+500 or 600 multiplied by the modifier (2 in this case) for 1200 total.
