[known issue - investigating] Unity Error

Platform, device version and operating system: PC, Win 11

Screenshot or image: Tried to embed the screenshot, but it didn’t work.

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
Was playing a round against the computer and I got the message, the game crashed.

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
June 6, 2026. It happened a few more times for about a day or two. Then it stopped.

Steps to make it happen again
*Haven’t a clue. Hasn’t happened since then.*strong text

These Unity issues have been reported before. I am waiting to get more information from the team as it’s hard to determine why these are happening for some people and not everyone, as the issue itself is Unity crashing. So, if it was a whole game data issue, you would expect everyone to get this Unity crashing error.

I don’t have any troubleshooting I can share, other than just making sure you have recently verified your game files on Steam.

For me, I believe I started seeing an increase in crashes on PC around the 9.1 update.

I try to load up the game and it’ll just crash out. I’ll close it, restart and then it’s fine. I’m struggling to remember if it happened during a battle, but I don’t play very much right now.

Unfortunately I cannot give any more details than that.

I too have noticed completely random (ie every time it’s happened, what was being done in the game was different) crashes to the home screen. It has cost me sigils in underspire as well as the weekly guild events, but hey.

No message, no nothing.

Android, Samsung.

Edit to add

Friday 11:38 cat opening glory chests. Game crashed

Not sure if this is the same as the unity error in the OP. But this crash has been happening since 9.2

For everyone who is experiencing Unity error crashing, I have made it it’s own article which goes over what specific information the dev team need to investigate.

Currently we are unable to pinpoint a single cause, as each log we have from players seems to point to something different. So, we are still trying to just work out if it is even something on our side we can resolve, or there is something happening with some players PC’s causing it.

For now, it’s still being investigated while we gather more information.

It happened to me in Tuesday this week (July 7th, from 0:00 to 13:00 or so, China time, GMT+8). It happened on two computers, one win 10 and one win 11, so probably not something system specific. During that time I cannot connect to in-game chat, and unity crash popped up about 1 minute after game program started, every time. When unity crash popped up, the game froze. When that pop-up finish its activity, the game flowed again for about less than 1 second, then closed.

My guess is clashes relate to chat. When chat service is not available for some reason, the sub program crashes.

This is a serious issue and it has already happened to many players. Why hasn’t there been an in-game announcement to warn everyone? I was on an 800-PvP win streak, pushing toward my goal of 4,000 wins. Because the game crashed, now I have to start all over again. Unbelievable! Is it possible to restore my streak or revert the loss?

It’s not possible to constantly have an announcement, when we cannot pin point why this is happening to some players.

Which is why in the known issues article I wrote, there are the specific information we need when people report this issue, so I can share that information with the devs so we can find out why

I don’t think it’s fair to leave players clueless about game-breaking bugs and crashes. At the very least, there should be an easy-to-remember, accessible place for tracking major gameplay issues so that players can anticipate the risks before playing. I don’t want to dig through dozens of forum posts every single day just to check if the game is safe to play, and find the problem I’m dealing with.

Based on your post, I suppose the issue is mainly on PC. It means playing on Android is way safer than on PC for this issue, right? That’s a super useful info more players should know about. Why is there no public notification about it?

The Unity issue, only affects PC

We have a whole help centre and game guide website, with articles on all of this.

There are few games that have known issues lists, viewable in-game, without needing to get linked out to a website.

I am also unaware of a game that goes beyond having a known articles page, a help centre with articles, as well as regularly maintains bug report threads in a community forum? So, I’m not sure how much more we can share issues with players, without it becoming disruptive itself to players

Via the in-game mailbox or news announcement board? I don’t mean the game has to list every ongoing bug or issue. Just a simple reminder would be enough, such as: “Alert: A few nasty bugs are loose and might ruin your gameplay. Visit this link for the full breakdown.” That’s literally all it takes to catch players’ attention and raise awareness.

The above article is a bit of an eye-strain.

Severe game-breaking bugs or crashes (such as board soft-locks, Unity errors, etc.) need to be bolded and colored in red. Spicing things up with extra details like the first-reported date, frequency, affected player % and related forum links would be highly appreciated.

The announcements cannot display all the information, they are too small. They also cannot link out externally, and would just direct you to the same article.

Don’t think there has ever been a point in time when there hasn’t been active bugs, so the known issues article has always been the check point for seeing what issues are ongoing.
For the most part, when players do experience an issue, they check that help centre.

I’m all for visibility, but I think we have the issues posted and updated really clearly.

Additionally, a lot of people don’t even check the announcements, let alone read through the text in their mail unless it contains resources. Same as players who don’t check the forums, they don’t check socials etc.
There is rarely a perfect system that will ensure every single player has eyes on issues, because in the end, some people don’t even check the places you have that information.

Just like no matter where we post the patch notes, I’ll still get questions that are clearly answered within them, even directly under the patch notes themselves.

Starts getting to a point that it’s no longer on us to keep pasting that information in new places, and starts being on players to check where that information is already available.

Also, it’s just me out here. Having that much information, and the ability to regularly update it etc is beyond what I could be capable of, while also doing my existing tasks. If we had a full community and support team, then I would be all for having a much better Known issues article, with more details.

But for now, we just have a list that’s broken down into categories.

In short, I have to check the forum every day and scroll through a massive wall of text in the ‘Known Issues’ article, just to see if there are any new bugs before I can finally play in peace. Sounds great! What a truly unique and “convenient” way to enjoy a game. New players are surely going to love this.

Highlighting game-breaking bugs and crashes in bold red text should be easy, right?
