What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
Maybe it’s not the error, per se, but I am irked with this “points” between battles. Which happened to be indicators of the amount of the battles between focal points. Now they are simply points. Why they are here then? Every plot point takes 2, and boss fight is 1, but on paths I see arbitrary amount of gold points which means nothing now. sigh If you do not plan to use it as counter, maybe remove them altogether, and replace with something not so obviously countable?
How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
Always after kingdoms rework.
I am pretty sure they are just visual icons for stepping through the map, I am confirming but I am pretty sure it’s just a visual. it is visual only, as it is consistently always 2 battles until a boss
Think the complaint is that in the old system the visual matched the experience and the current visuals don’t. Which is confusing. If it’s not something they want to change, players will get used to it, but it feels bugged/broken to go from it matching to not matching.
In all such games, including GoW before rewrite, these points were the indication of the progress. That’s why they are points! You are moving by path, killing monsters in each point. During rewrite this meaning was overlooked, and now we simply teleported from one focal point to another. I know it, and I agree with logic. But if this points has no meaning now, they aren’t needed as “points”. Make them golden lines, or, just opposite, golden dotted line, and no one will count segments inside. Right now, as @Zuul-Emo explained, it has a view of old system, but works totally different, and feel erroneous.
