Players got Archproxy Yvendra instead of Arachnaean Weaver. So they did get a troop of equivalent rarity.

Is it a mistake from the devs? Yes, they have certainly forget about this corner case and forget to put an “if Mythic exclusive and Mythic belongs to weekly week” then add Event in the text of the in-game News.
Now I do not believe it is intentional and that devs have the time to tweak the event chests just so players do not get a popular troop.

This quote can be understood as “only this mythic will be in event chests” OR as “if this mythic belongs to the weekly kingdom, only then will it be in event chests.” It’s iffy at best, and other help articles state the mythic will “also” be available in event chests

This (can only drop) clearly implies - to a non-native speaker - that both mythics should have been available.
If, on the other hand, it said can drop only the new Mythic that would clearly indicate that Weaver was not available.

In any case, this outcome in 100% on the dev’s hands because it is their responsibility to make it unambiguously clear how the thing works; especially, considering that there was a topic the previous week asking specifically about Archxpory Yvendra in event chests. All they had to do was drop one sentence there - only Yvendra, no Weaver until Friday reset - and none of current upset and disdain towards them would’ve happened.

I’m really not sure what you are trying to say here. Anybody familiar with this kind of language will confirm this means the new mythic is only part of the event chest drop pool in case it belongs to the weekly event kingdom. You might find this easier to read by looking at the whole section, not just the fragment you marked. The sentence right before that explicitly lists the chests the exclusivity applies to, event chests are not among them.

This is entirely irrelevant. Players did not try to get a mythic troop, players tried to get Arachnean Weaver, based on the loot box rules linked on the purchase screen that very clearly explain it would be available.

Look, I don’t know what your gripe is here, but this is really a very clear cut case. If anybody wanted to go through the effort of suing over this, Infinity Plus Two would likely scramble to settle this out of court.
