Kafka's Curiosity: What's to love?

Yeah, that sense of achievement when I finally crafted Zuul’Goth after a year of collecting minor orbs and assembling Orbs of Power: that was a great moment.

Like you say: it was a long journey, but you could see that you were making steady progress towards it.

I want to keep mine short. So here goes.

I love the set collection aspect, otherwise it would just be match 3.

I love the battle aspect and have to come to realize I like winning. So much that GW used to infuriate me and I’m still convinced the AI has better luck in GW then other modes.

I like weekly events and like being in a guild that completes them. Before I had all the troops and classes leveled, etc. I loved that my guild helped me get all the resources I needed. Now I pretty much just need deeds/books/gold marks. I still love my guild Dark Avengers (and loved MADD) but communication drops off the more people we lose (and losing people has become a weekly occurrence).

But I am way way way past grinding to level all the troops and getting all the PVP levels, etc. when I can’t get past level 26 on 90% of the kingdoms because I need thousands of deeds or hundreds of deed books.

I like underspire, but after 3 guardians and 1 duplicate the first month or two, I haven’t seen one since. has it been months? A year? longer? I lost track.

I like the new dragons, but I barely use any other teams besides stellarix. And I hate that the dragons aren’t capped at 4, its so sad to hear daily from others they still can’t get their last dragon.

I like when useful troops and classes are added, but it takes way too long to correct overpowered items. If you aren’t using Stellarix, Wand Elementalist and empowered troops, you can’t win.

Not sure if that is helpful as it probably just reiterates the obvious. But there you go. Thanks for all you do to try Kafka.

Since have made some (semi-)negative posts will participate on things that are well.

  1. Definitly the Guild. A good community is always a nice motivation to keep on going.

  2. Even though some tweaking needs to be done the new PvP is more enjoyable then just getting it done like in the past.
The different restrictions are interesting to make new teams for but Elementalist ruins the diversity for sure when facing opponents that have it. Will make a post about what i think works and what i feel doesn’t closer to end of season.

  3. A bit of a double edged sword is that there are many things to do. The good thing is many ways to play but the bad thing is choices need to be made if not much time to play.
A solution could be if several rewards can be earned from multiple sources. Like having Sentinels also drop with Chaos Shards from Delves for example and/or able to earn certain resources like Burning Marks also in Treasure Hunt. Just to give people more options without feeling forced to do something they might not like or don’t have time for.

Also would add something that was nice in the past but unfortunatly went away and that is live streams. Which so far i know don’t happen anymore. Having some more direct way to communicate with the playerbase while also showing gameplay helps remove a barrier between developers and players. Though some good moderators are defenitly needed if deciding to do that again with how unsatisfied alot of people are nowadays. Just to keep things civilized.

That’s all i can think of now. A follow up on things people have said here would be nice to see. So it doesn’t feel that we aren’t heard even when trying to be more positive @Kafka

In response to Sylvani, that’s wise, and stated so concisely. Thank you for not having to write a novel to make a great point. :clap:t3:

Defeated by a robot holding a $10 strobe light?

So one of my favorite parts about the game itself is the fact that it’s F2P. it’s more than that though. It’s the most F2P game out there. Every troop can be gotten for free. Basically all the weapons can be gotten for free. That is EXTREMELY rare nowadays. That said, I did pay for $50 DK armor and a couple other things along the way.

Once I was hooked because of how F2P it was, the next thing to come was of course the fact that it’s a match 3 mixed with a team building game. I am very good at match 3’s, and having near-infinite customizability with team building just adds to that.

I will add a small bit of rewards received here, because it was Zuul and how hard and fast I pushed for it. I won 3 class events back before the potion system was implemented on my way to trying to get Zuul on my 1 year anniversary, but ended up just short. I did managed to get it on my 13 month anniversary though. Ever since then I’ve been keeping on keeping on to try and maintain my collection, building teams etc. I can’t play the same 8-12 hours a day I used to, but I do the best I can. I naturally don’t have all the troops, or even all the non-eternal troops, but I’ve got 1458/1482, missing a few cosmic dragons, a few vault cards, a couple sentinels, a handful of mythics, Hoard Mymic, and the eternals. I have some diamonds on hand to craft what I can when they come to the forge, but I sort of stick to that ratio, and as new troops come out I get them.

My favorite game mode is a bit hard to pin down, but I guess I’d narrow it down to events with the event medals, particularly those with a spell damage boost. The potions REALLY help get battles off the ground if there aren’t good mana generators, the spell damage medals help new and old players alike contribute, which is especially important if the rewards stack with enemy levels, and then the events get a bonus if the troop selection isn’t horribly restrictive. I’m fine with color and troop type restrictions, and even role restrictions aren’t too bad as long as you have access to at least 2 of them.

One final note, I REALLY do like Treasure Hunt, and I used to like Arena, but I think they are badly in need of updates or reworks. Whether it’s the rewards or the modes themselves, something needs to be done to make them worth the time, because as it stands, no matter how fun they might be, they just aren’t time efficient.

I totally agree with the points listed by the player redtoadstool. I think it sums up the opinion of many people.
If it weren’t for guilds, I wouldn’t be playing this game any more. For me, the most important thing is to get the players to communicate and work together. New features, events such as Tower of Doom. And Guild wars of course.

I like how you all put something new out every week and change events kingdoms every week. I also like that a free to play account is possible. Makes my job easier. I go hard on yall but just want to see the game get better.

I also like how there are many different game modes. If i feel like 1 shotting i can do that n if i want a challenge i can do that. If you want to play something entirely different that in no way resembles gems you can also play treasure hunt.

While there are diminishing returns everywhere you can play as long as you want.

I like that you dont need mythics to be powerful

Not a well thought out post by me but just adding my 2 cents

I enjoy arena and epic trials because it strips your stats n money away and shows how good you really are at the game. I like fear of losing i want to feel good about winning like there was a chance of losing.

But then i could do a vault for hours but its cool you got difficult areas for people like me and easy 1 shots for grinders
