@Sheffield I’ve unbanned your account and restored any resources/event progress that was removed due to the ban.
I’m still going through the list of banned accounts and reviewing them - I’m about 50% of the way through, yours is the only one I’ve come across so far that was incorrect but I’m still going through to be sure and I know there’s at least 1 other post in this thread about another account that’s on my list still.
It’s a lot of information to parse so it’s taking me quite some time.
I’ve passed the information I have onto the team and will be following up with them tomorrow about what happened, what will be done about it and compensation for anyone incorrectly banned.
But I’m trying to make sure anyone who was affected is unbanned as my first priority then will follow up about compensation secondly.
We are incredibly sorry this happened even if it ends up being only 1 account affected.
It’s most frustrating for Sheffield and any other player affected who is still on my list, but it’s incredibly frustrating for everyone that this was able to happen at all to anyone.
We’re getting this straightened out as soon as we can.
Regarding things I said 2+ years ago becoming incorrect, how things work, especially hack detection evolves over time, so what I said in 2017,2018,2019… 2022 etc etc may not be relevant right here today, tomorrow or next year about literally any topic. As I’ve mentioned in the past about game modes and such as well - practically nothing is set in stone in this game, it’s been around for a long time, we plan for it to be around for a long time in the future and that means everything and how it works is up for discussion over the long term.
When it comes to hack detection we have historically not published much of anything about it because any information we publish goes straight to the people creating the cheats which immediately makes any kind of cheat detection we do (automated or manual) completely redundant.
It feels like automated bans going through a human pair of eyes is relevant right here. Especially since this was promised as result of the Krinklemess bans, because getting your incorrectly banned account out of nirvana can take weeks.
There was a not saying thi gs should be good by reset. Well reset has come and gone and still banned for hacking on a xbox please tell me how this is even possible we had to push a big gold drop back because flames and i are both banned for the same stupid thing that should of never happened . Its just getting very frustrating when all you want to do is play the game guys
Improperly banning these two players has caused much grief in our guild this past week. Both are Krakens, one is our GM. Please reinstate them ASAP and share what triggered it so we can at least prevent future SNAFUs.
I’ve finished manually reviewing the bans and unbanned any incorrectly banned accounts and sent them in game mail.
I’ve also passed on all the details I collected for both the correctly and incorrectly banned accounts to the team.
I have a meeting with the team about this tomorrow as well.
Once again we’re incredibly sorry this happened.
Thankfully only 4 players across all platforms were affected but we are disappointed it happened to even a single player.
P.S As promised @Sheffield I double checked your account today after you had a day unbanned and can see your account hasn’t been flagged again for cheating.
I’ll do another manual check for the previously incorrectly banned accounts tomorrow to make sure they don’t end up flagged again while I’m still discussing the issue with the team.
@Rob17 and Flames, I’m sorry I was unable to review your bans yesterday as well. I dropped literally all my other work and did overtime to get through as much of the list as I could yesterday but I wasn’t able to do it all in a single day even with the overtime. I considered staying back even later but I felt that it would actually affect my ability to get to work today if I kept going longer than I did, and I needed to be here today to continue following up on the issue and for the update today. I do hate that I made you wait longer.
PPS - Someone else on the team has suggested we have a chat title for “So good, the devs accidentally banned me” - I pitched it to Sirrian and he loves it not loving the odds, but I’m going to keep bringing it up until it’s a thing.

Would love to hear any specifics as to why the improper incorrect bans happened esp. if there’s something we can do to prevent it (neither of my guildies were close to gold cap). In any event good jorb again.
I just hope it doesn’t happen again because I just want to play. And I love playing very quickly, for example completing the Faction Event in 20 - 30 minutes so that I’m done for the Day and can do other things. Whether it’s other Game modes in Gems or generally other things in real life or something like that.
