What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
I expected that you test anounced features of your own game at least ONCE before releasing it.
More specific from the Patch notes for 8.8:
āPvP teams will be saved within a region for specific restrictions (as long as the player has created a team previously)ā
I set a team for Aidana with restriction green on September 22 and used it
Today (October 20) this restriction hits Aidana again, but the team slots are empty
I also set a team on Summer Isle for Raksha restriction on September 29 and used it
Today this restriction was on Summer Isle again, but all team slots were emty
I also set a team in Southwild with purple restriction on September 29
Today - you guessed it - same restriction but the team was empty
How often does this happen?
Every time the restriction is not the same as the week before on a specific region,
all team slots gets cleared, despite the anouncment in the patch notes
When did it begin happening?
It never worked before
Getting clear information on this from the team at the moment is a bit of a mess.
On one hand, getting informed that the PvP Teams for Citadel fights not being saved, is what was actually fixed and not *generally *all PvP teams. But then finding discussions where there was a fix for PvP Teams that had Immortals, not being saved, being fixed
Then, on the other hand, being told that only 1 team per Region is saved at the moment, which could be why it appears to save inconsistently (which was mentioned in the patch notes thread), or it currently isnāt saving any at all.
The intention is that each Region should be able to have a team saved, to match each restriction, once a team has been formed.
Iām currently reclarifying the whole issue with the team to make sure it is clear that this issue was not resolved.
We did get a fix for teams with immortals in their home regions, but thatās a completely different fix than the one for teams being saved from one week to the next if they return to a previous restriction. Pretty sure those happened in different updates.
As for citadel fights, not sure what the issue was with those, but the teams would be the same as regular PvP, right?
This sounds the closest to what weāre seeing. Some teams being saved and returning, but mostly when it returns to a previous restriction it isnāt working.
What is the issue with teams for Citadel fights not being saved? Never heard of it. The only thing I remember seeing on forums is that enemy teams sometimes have trouble showing up in citadel fights for some people so, as far as itās possible to gather, nothing to do with player teams that needs fixing;
Immortal teams getting wiped was fixed ages ago (when your team finally stopped beating around the bushes with stuff like āoh, we cannot reproduce the bugā) and has been working successfully since, so - no need to fix anything here;
saving one team per region (which you mention as āat the moment workingā) is indeed how it has always worked since some team saving was introduced. (When restrictions go A-A-A-Aā¦team gets saved, as soon as two consecutive letters are not the same, player team gets wiped and still remains wiped even when it returns to the restriction that had a saved team earlier.) Itās the only way it has ever worked. (Unless somebody can show a video of a team automatically loading in A-B-A or similar restriction caseā¦ātrust me, broā is not good enough here.)
This looks to be in line with how I interpret bullet point from patch notes (namely, if restrictions go like A-B-C-A-D-C-B-A-ā¦whatever, last-used team for every restriction gets saved in a player-specific list and when specific restriction comes up again the game looks at said list and automatically loads the respective team).
That is clearly not happening now; so, either it is bugged, or it was never actually implemented (which calls for a question why is it presented in the patch notes as a working feature).
Well, wouldnāt be the first time you write false stuff in patch notes (khm, improved daily offers, khm); hopefully this time it gets treated differently and sees the daylight eventually.
