Selecting Guild Wars displays a notice a notification that you won yesterday’s match. There’s a button labeled “Continue”. Presumably pressing one of the buttons on the controller is supposed to dismiss this notification and continue on the play Guild Wars. Instead, the only way to dismiss the notification is to force kill the game and restart.
When I want to play GWs, there’s no opponent scheduled, then the game closes completely. Therefore I can’t get the 4 last wins needed to get shiny tokens.
Yes. I started about 20 times. Everything else works (except the known bugs), but GWs always puts me back to game hub and the game is completely closed. No matter if I just started or already played for a while.
I also encountered this (Switch version) earlier today.
First, and presumably unrelated to the bug, at least with touchscreen/mouse you can tap the “Guild Wars” button from the sidebar and there is no visual indicator that the game is communicating/loading (unlike most other modes). This lack of obvious feedback is bad design generally, and can lead to the user tapping that button multiple times – whether this is relevant to the softlock, I don’t know.
Second, today when the game declared that my Guild had won the previous day, clicking to dismiss the victory notification did literally nothing – and so, being unable to dismiss this notification, I had no recourse but to close the game and restart. Fortunately, it did not persist after restarting, nothing was ultimately lost here, but the fact that it completely locked up is the concern..
As it’s still being investigated, no there is not likely to be a fix before the last day of Guild Wars.
Also, trying to clarify because this thread has now become two different issues in this thread:
Soft locking when trying to Continue through the Yesterdays War pop up - resolved with a restart
Game crashing and totally being blocked from playing Guild Wars - with no resolution after restarting
Either way, if players are blocked completely from Guild Wars, we would work on compensation after we established what was wrong and why it is happening.
In the meantime, I am movie all reports of the game crashing and not being able to play in Guild Wars, into a new thread.
