What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened: I was trying to open gold keys, and my game crashed. This happens after about 5 to 10 instances of opening 200 gold keys at a time, and it happens with other types of keys as well (glory, gem, etc.)
How often does this happen? When did it begin happening? This happens all the time now, ever since the fix to the Library pass. I did not have this issue when Astral Spire was released or any other time before that.
Steps to make it happen again Open up keys of the highest quantity, multiple times, and after doing this for about 5 to 10 times, the game will crash.(200 gold keys, 200 glory keys, 200 gem keys, etc.)
@Jeto I know this is not your fault, but this is very irritating to say the least. This issue also happens when you are scrolling through your troops. Maybe it has something to do with the troops not rendering or processing their artwork properly? Or maybe we just have too many troops now?
As soon as you open a chest, the data is sent instantly to your account - so even if you dont watch the animation, all your items have already been recieved.
This error you have is a Switch specific error and not necessarily caused by something in-game.. is it happening consistently?
Yeah. It’s happening consistently whenever I am opening chests or scrolling through troops. Based on my own experience, you have about a minute or so of opening chests or scrolling through troops, and then the game crashes.
I also play on Switch but have not encountered this error – or ANY crash since the latest update. Instead, I get two (non-fatal) system error messages over a daily reset, then an indefinite hang when attempting to do certain actions (usually minor Gem purchases like a Daily Offer), and in my case the action was simply never sent/processed at all (upon restarting the game, I still have my Gems and the next attempt at that offer succeeds quickly).
I did not know if this issue was specific to just me or everybody. When I used to get cliffy errors, I knew that was directly related to my account, but I have never encountered my most recent issue.
It may take a little longer to dig into, as we need to check the back end if there is some error being flagged
If possible, if anyone can retroactively capture a video of it happening that would be handy - I know the other platforms have features that will capture the last 30 seconds of gameplay, not sure if switch also has this
@Darkborne how much space is available on your switch? and have you recently reinstalled Gems of War
I redownloaded Gems of War, and it seems to have resolved my issue. Thank you for your help.
If I experience something like this again, I will just redownload the game, and if I still have an issue, I will submit a bug report. I honestly never experienced something like this, so I did not know what to do. Thankfully, it seems to have been a minor issue.
