Infernal King is insane

I have just had to kill Infernal King SIX (6) times in order to finally get rid of him. He’s supposed to have 25% of resurrecting after death, but it’s more like 75%. I am used to him resurrecting like 2-3 times, even 4 is not unusual, but six is really something else. Luckily it was in the third stage of pet rescue, so I could one-shot it, but watching it resurrect over and over and over again is pretty frustrating. Maybe someone could check what is actually programmed in this card, because I guarantee it’s not 25%.

What’s the record for infernal king respawns? Most I’ve had is 6 as well i think

Just put Sister Superior in your team and put him to rest.

I once had to sit through sixteen re-spawns in a single fight. Which is about as much of an outlier probability as you’re likely to see.

When I know that an Infernal King is on the other side, I make an effort to bring something to battle that can stun it. Just so I don’t have to deal with it.

I personally had 23 respawns in a pet battle long ago (no longer have the screenshot unfortunately as I’ve upgraded to ps5)

Wow those are crazy amounts of respawns!! Thanks for posting

Surely, you do have a dataset (which you are ready to present at a moment’s notice) to draw such conclusion from?

For example, I simply slapped together a team everybody can give a try and went to fight myself in PvP (however awkward it is to do).

The results are as follows

R means that Infernal King resurrected and D means that Infernal King…well…died (yes, it was hard to come up with suitable symbols to use).
Game #16 was a loss, he resurrected and got one heck-of-a-move that obliterated my entire team.

For anybody not wanting to fingercount all the R’s and all the D’s and then do the math, the summary (according to my finercounting) looks something like this:

I hope I got that right. Total kills count both resurrected and dead; Resurrected counts the instances of resurrection, obviously. Cursory glance over it tells that resurrection rate is certainly not 75% as the initial hypothesis suggests.

I’ll do separate count for encounters in explore (but it’ll take a loooong time as I will most certainly not just camp in Blighted Lands forever - that is not how I roll) and encounters in pet rescue (which will also take some amount of time) just for the sake of it. I wonder whether it will show noticeable difference with training battle set. Besides, it would be really cool to get one of those astronomically improbable resurrection streaks for myself as four times in a row (or maybe five times, I don’t know for sure) is my current record.

Let’s call this mid-term report

after 9 pet rescues (63 eligible games as battle one has Infernal King without traits).
I’ll give full details when I get to 20 pet rescues and stop but, so far, the results are fully expected and totally unsurprising.

Just illustrates the main gripe I have with these sorts of complainers (battlecrashers prevent gnomes from appearing - no, they don’t. I’ve counted the numbers. Ancient Horror on-death summon is way more than 25% - no, it isn’t. I’ve counted the numbers…and so on, and so forth…) - they virtually never offer any shred of data to support their claims and generalize one piece of anecdotal evidence across the entire game.
Screw-ups happen, things can work incorrectly and not as stated, but constant yelling “wolf is eating the sheep! Wolf is eating the sheep!” does not help in the slightest. It only makes legitimate issues easier to dismiss in the future.

For some reason when I read your post this Burger King gif came to mind.

Infernal King and Ancient Horror only serves to waste our time. It doesn’t make matches more difficult, just irritating and time consuming. Only the AI uses it. I vote they both get scrapped.
