Instead of limiting the selection of shiny troops to useless Raid/Invasion/Journey troops for week, why not let us select from all the available shiny troops for that kingdom? It would make shiny keys more valuable and make the whole process easier.
Oh wait. They will get back to us in a year. Maybe. Probably not.
Prior to the 9.2 update, I only spent my Shiny Keys every five weeks. My rationale being that the only troop really worth upgrading to higher Shiny levels were the Pathfinders, and also because I vaguely recall once seeing somewhere that there was a bias towards receiving shiny tokens of the weekly troop when you pulled.
Even considering that I’m part of a guild that fully completes the weekly event, even adding in the small amounts of Shiny Dust that I’d get from the Underspire or whatever? I was still only opening about 35-40 shiny chests every five weeks. Mind you, that number could go up if I start spending my Gold Marks on Shiny Keys now that Books of Deeds are extinct, but it’s still not that much.
I could see a more legit argument for 50 shiny chests at once. 200 is just too many.
And better that the developers give us some sort of reasonable way to target our shiny token pulls. Preferably not a way that’s “spend 3 shiny keys at once and be guaranteed a token from this handful of selected/curated troops”.
Like maybe there could be a bias in which there’s a much greater percentage chance to pull shiny tokens for troops of the current week’s kingdom. Which would permit us to wait for that kingdom to roll around and spend heavily in that week if we’re trying for a particular token.
