What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened?
Expecting 100 souls at end of fight when casting valkyrie several times, or at least 10 souls when finishing a fight with killing 4 ennemies with a 2.5X bonus

Remember: difficulty levels do not impact PVP fights, nor do you get bonus to rewards. Souls are capped at 40 per fight, adjusted only by your armor and VIP levels.

that would explain that, i was so used to get 100 in most fight i didn’t realise there is a cap of 40 for pvp
Once you hit the 40 souls cap in a match, that final amount is then increased according to the multiplier(s) listed on the World screen.
So if you’ve typically been getting 100 souls per match, and assuming your VIP Level is still 0, then you would have to have worn Celestial Armor AND have run the match on Warlord I difficulty in order to get that many souls.
