If a person joins a new guild, do they get the rewards from the guild tasks that have been done up to the point they joined?

I have some people joining my guild and i dont want to drop gold on task until they can join later today because im afraid they wont get the rewards from the completed tasks. Does anyone know if a person retroactively get already earned task rewards when they join a guild?

No they wouldn’t. They will only get the rewards from tasks completed after they join. That is if they didn’t already collect the same task(s) from their previous guild.
