I am on smart phone and can’t drag/copy.
I edited my post. You should be able to quote with the second example.

I was probably safer not knowing how to quote someone…

Use your words!
Most smart phones allow you to highlight and copy text by long pressing on a word to bring up the text selection. It also brings up the Quote button at the same time on the forums.

Took me a while to figure it out as well.
I wonder if it’d be helpful to have a help category on the forums. To either teach members on how to use discourse. Or help with GoW. I know there’s a help section on the official website. So the help section on here could have a hyper link to the main website.
When you first join, there’s a tutorial sent to you as a bunch of successive messages (it starts with one and doesn’t continue until you reply in the way it asks, replying with one message at a time) to which you reply which will teach you all the ins and outs of the messaging system. At the end (a couple of minutes), you get your own Certificate of Achievement for completing the tutorial, not to mention the badges you earn along the way…
I think this is for those who don’t know how to do this but I like it.
