How do you feel about the new Elementalist class?

But taking the one op class to counter the op class doesn’t change the fact that it’s op

So many players, so many opinions, strategy, play style and that is only imo great that makes this game a pleasure to play and the community here to share your experience, knowledge and the good and the not good things!
Talking see other idea’s, tips make this a good concept to learn, enjoy and keep the game nice to play!
The world should be grey with all the same builds, favo class, troop and play style, no sheep’s unique players!! :star_struck:

My priority is having fun and the Elementalist class has genuinely made me debate quitting the game a few times since its introduction because it has made pvp and GW a hell hole where I only spend 75% of my fights using the same boring team specifically designed to counter Elementalist.

I used to use 5-6 teams on a rota that I would change regularly to beat multiple different teams and have fun figuring out how to counter different teams with different restrictions. Now it’s just how do I counter the Elementalist… Woo…

Maybe I should just stop caring about one or my favourite areas of the game instead of trying to argue for game balance to make it fun again.

The most important thing in gaming wtv game you play YOU MUST HAVE FUN, PLEASURE IN IT otherwise it miss the whole gaming aspect!
We play a game to relax, have fun, pleasure skip the rl things for a while just do what you like to do if you cant find that on what way any longer in a game I think its good to take the time to look how you can bring it back in your game!!
I really hope you find that back in the game, coz everyone needs and deserve to enjoy a game and be satisfied by what you do!

Think that sharing and explain your opinion here is never bad!
I dont think that the solution lies in that different people has other opinion than you, I think to talk over it with each other can give others another way to look at it but I dont have the feeling or idea that this topic or any other is meant to be that we all find the same thing over the elementalist class

For sure no opinion is wrong unless it is based off faulty logic or incorrect information. We all have different playstyles and what we like and expect from the game so a good representation of all those views is important. Some of us play several hours daily some just a few hours a week. Some of us do tons of pvp some of us like to do delves some of us like to only do explore content etc

Are you a rank PVP player? I play casual because it’ll defeat my purpose to get a pet in rank. My hero is quite high so it is not a good place for gold for me. But my hero is a good resource for gold. In casual, I pay 50 if I think it’ll take me more than 1 shot to kill the opponents. I keep my overall PVP score low. I just play 1 rank to get my hero in the pool then go to casual. As the week goes on, players are doing tier 1 rank and my hero is left with newbies. Newbies love to give honors and I think we get along together. They need gold and I need new pets. Win-win.

See my rank? Can you try casual so you have a choice to choose your opponents by paying 50? @Asmodous. There you don’t need to give up PVP

I am going to hang out in PVP, what defense team do you like and I’ll set it.

Haha, I do play ranked - although I’ve not really played it in the last few weeks… For reasons I’ve posted above.

I don’t know really, I just like a variety, which I’m seeing far less of recently

You still playing in VG?

I’m in Marthos Guardians now part of the Anonymous family.

Love it. I am just on the same neighbourhood.

Indeed. I posted somewhere about buffing Leio with Ethereal sentry but there are many troops who could replace Leio and do a similar job for less mana cost and less mana block. Leio spell relies on opposition magic which depletes as enemies die. I dont think skull spam or gargoyle was the intention; wild king with gargoyle makes more sense.

It’s just one way. And I’m not saying this class isn’t strong.

They could have kept fire tree as was shown in the first “draft”. Now that would have been ridiculously OP.

Of my 10, 3 have been the same (just orbweaver, the thing that everyone hated as far as I recall). I absolutely understand that you dislike the lack of variety.

Do you get to play a lot of different players?
For me it seems to be a lot of the same players (hence the same teams).

Yeah, he’s not a very exciting troop. You can make him work but there are others who can easily fill the same role.

Leio can’t be the main damage source. He’s a tank that does some damage. But I’m not a huge fan of slow games which tanky teams lead to. He may be good for newer players though I wouldn’t advise going for him specifically. If they’d get him by chance he’d probably be fine.

Of the zodiac signs I only like Piscea - if you use him as a mana generator that may devour, he’s fun. It sadly got my hopes up only it be disappointed with every zodiac that came after.

Thank you!
I proposed the exact same change earlier in the thread, and got crickets. I’m glad that there’s someone else who understands game balance and doesn’t just want the next new OP thing over and over. Elementalist has made the game boring because you have to rely on it so much and counter it so much. I hate that there’s a class you’re pretty much forced to use, or lose.

I gave up arguing with the forum last year because most people don’t care about game balance, nor realize the decreasing returns in fun for an unbalanced strat.

In what game is that?
Last week I decided to play some PvP for a change seeing how other guilds from our family were encountering the new pets in rescues (didn’t accomplish anything on this front, as expected) and ended P167 on leaderboard with, I think, 311/6. Barely used Elementalist.
In fact, before this weeks world event (where I obviously use him because - Nexus), Elementalist was my least used hero class of all.

One of my most used classes probably Slayer. For gw it is Monk.

I really don’t know why people think they have to use Elementalist. Not saying it isn’t really strong but still…

It’s not every battle: it’s some battles, particularly those with empowered converters. Sure, you could chance it, maybe bring out Frostmage, but against certain looping teams your odds go too far down if you’re not using Elementalist. If it were only a few percent difference I could ignore it.

Some battles, sure. Like I sometimes use Monk, Thief, etc

But some people seem to actually think they need to slap Elementalist onto every team to make it better which isn’t the case.

Try a troop whose spell benefits off of enemy attack with Elementalist.

Elementalist is great against looping teams for sure. I like to bring it out for that, too.

I dont use Elementalist Class more than other classes I like to play with beast MW troops with Warden class,
Orbweaver with an elf team
FoS,with Q Titiana, Suna and Summer’s Wonder with Hierophant
Slayer with Centugaron and Zuul
Frostmage with Glacial peaks
Dragon team with Dragonguard
Phoenicia with SunSpear
Elementalist is absolute not my most frequent played class
I like to play with differents team’s and classes and I dont say that Elementalist is not strong but imo not so big issue/ problem as it here by some looks!
I dislike boring, so I make it sure that my game is never get me bored.
I have Zuul, Leonis Tower, Enraged Kurandara I use them even as the elementalist class and Q Bee from time to time and also In GW bracket 4 I use different teams and classes barely 5 times same team on a day mostly 3 different teams.
Assasin or sorceror with mist of scale team also great to play with so much options what make my game great to play :star_struck:
