Finally get my Lust by using precious 675 gems to buy 50 event keys. For celebration, I crafted 7 semi-competitive teams for showcasing each 7 sins, and using them for PvP defense each day! ^^
Have you tried loop teams?
Mercy>Alchemist>Hellcat>Titania for example
Enemy crazy stats don’t matter if they never get a turn…
I love seeing team building. Thanks for sharing @TimeKnight!
semi competitive, that’s right: Omen traits (explode gems at start) don’t work for defense teams
Hey Sheba, I use Gorgotha, Glaycion, King Bloodhammer, Apothecary (Bear Banner) for those non-Gob teams. It almost self loops but even if it doesn’t, the amount of skull exploding always brings them down within a few turns.
Plague, Death, Wordbreaker, Suna, Zulgoth will also be rebalanced?
They are so powerful when the Ubasted.
And the rebalancing of the Infernus was ridiculous. It just changed the cost of mana. He still remains one of the game’s most powerful troops.
Ridiculo, too, is to launch a troop and then rebalance. Let them think before making it available in the game.
If I had Infernus, who had almost no change, and is one of the most powerful troops, these nerfs, too, would not hurt me at all.
And who does not have Infernus?
These changes mainly hurt who has Ubasted and does not have Infernus.
That’s one thing, but my teams don’t rely too much on that. They do heavily relied on 7 Deadly Sins troops though, so if the top troops are dead before casting, they will quickly fall apart. But hey, it would be fun to attack, and a good break from repetitive meta! ^^
Also… Barghast. I’m sorry you didn’t get to be on spotlight this week. Your art is still very cool though.
P.S. have anyone try Sunbird/Lust x3 team yet? Would 3 charms trigger everytime Sunbird cast its spell? It would be quite stupidly powerful. I only have 1 Lust, so I can’t try that.
It does indeed trigger 3 times. Good shout, it’s a funny team to use
My defense consisting of the dumb meta divines has barely seen a reduction in efficiency so far. Still about neutral W/L.
That depends you could use Divinia instead of Infernus for Explosions, Life Gain and Cleanse, as well as random buffs on 4/5 matches. Then it’s a matter if you have the Divine Protector or not, but other weapons can also help or you can simply use other Divine Troop.
3 Charms triggers but 2 should have target the same troop.
What about Elspeth?
Same with Elspeth, you can target herself or Lust and there will be 3 x charm
With all due respect. I feel these changes were actually aimed to nerf the troops offensively. You could raise Infernus to 36 Mana. Still won’t stop the AI from casting and getting instantly full again with an extra turn thanks to favorable RNG depending on the “scale of difficulty”.
If you were concerned about the Defense aspect. You’d focus more on the blobs of 15 gem matches attained when a board is exploded.
In all actuality, the nerfs came because PvP was becoming too easy and fast with the Divine meta offensively.
Legendary tasks should never be a concern to devs anymore. They are already plenty nerfed. 90% of the legendary tasks contain useless, at least for me, TS (not useless to all I I’m aware). Any troops I get from them are just copies of ones I already have (again I know for most they aren’t). And the keys only become a lot because we do a lot. I have 3k event keys that are just collecting dust. If anything legendary tasks need to be buffed with ingots or chaos shards. Not nerfed… Not ever again nerfed. Tell us how many legendary tasks you want a guild to do a week and we’ll try to appease you. Then if that happens, maybe the legendary tasks could be legendary again.
Also, 4.0 will have a new way to spend gold causing the players to choose between helping the guild or helping themself. That should lead to less overall LT as well.
If you see a decline in money being spent on the game over the past 9 months. I assure you it has nothing to do with OP troops. Please spend more time figuring out the balance between the original magic of the game and being profitable. Less time worrying about nerfs and changes that hurt the players overall. Happy customers spend more money than disgruntled ones.
@Sirrian and @Nimhain
Thank you for your time.
I think there are conflicting feelings, interests and ideas. If every new currency/resource are added into legendary tasks then there is very little reason for an Endgamer to even divide his time with other activities that are not aimed at grinding for the best value.
It’s the same logic behind the Events related to PVP, Explore, PVP+Explore or Maps.
And that’s the best definition of endgame, there is nothing much else for you and others to do unless the Devs introduce another way to get some new troops. If you and others could get Portal Shards from Legendary Tasks the feature would be rendered useless MUCH faster and then the top endgamers would face lack of content and repetition again.
The variety the devs are trying to introduce is honestly a decent effort to still make the game attractive to us, it’s a sort of “tough love” to keep giving us harder challenges because we already conquered all the rest.
my point of view. this was (till now) the fastest offensive team there was. the change that was just made is that ppl will find now quicker team and again use it over and over and over again. there will be always a fastest team.
so such statment “all of these guys are fun to ATTACK with too, and we don’t really want them to lose their flavor, just a smidgeon of their power, particularly when combined” is as You really dont know how or why ppl use them in first place.
i mean i dont even mnid killing ubastet - ok - he was op You didnt know how to balance him, np. raise infernus mana. ok change (u could even did +2 more if u wanted). Divine Ishbaala - removing clense ok. and that should be it BUT if u think the change of 50% starting mana to 40% only affects those 3 is beyond me.
this nerfed ALL divines couse now all of them gets their mana slower so now there will be other teams who gets the job done quicker (in pvp) and divine characters that are now and in future releases will be dead content.
all that matters in pvp is who is quickest so maybe u wanted to change the meta from divines to - lets say deamon (couse of 4.0), but with all due respect -say that openly and dont hide behind wall of whiners who just didnt know how to deal with the ubastet teams and spam You and the forums with their cries.
as for the LTs. i also agree with awryan that for endgameplayers (and thats usually who is in the guilds who do them in those numbers the devs are speaking of) they are not that good - to be polite. if u are afraid about the quantities of stuff endgamers will get - buff them and make a weekly limits (like there is on seals). but buff them so this dedicated players who play this game for such long time will get something useful from them. ingots (epic, legendary and mythic), chance to get sigils (in weeks with boss or invasion) delve scrolls, chaos shards, some new stuff for factions, ttreasures etc. make a limit on them but buff them so the awards will be truly legendary.
i know that all the GOW team was workin hard and putting all the effort on the 4.0 patch and it looks great and i really appreciated it. im sure it will be fun to play couse its totally something different. but in my opinion the good change (and the 4.0 will be even very very good change) cannot cloud the bad ones You are making now.
I’ve given it a day or two to set in and when all is said and done…
WOOHOO BEST NERFS EVARRRRRRR!!!
Devs thank you so much for this. I would have liked a harsher nerf, but this is 100% completely certified fair.
Please un-nerf Kraken. Thank you.
I couldn’t agree more. Honestly the cleanse on Ishballa was virtually irrelevant to the meta defense, where the battle was over after infernus and uba casts. Oh and btw… it still is… now ish is unreasonably expensive cast for the effect compared to sekhma, Forrest guardian, etc which all have additional effects. The cleanse was far more useful on offense, and removing it only makes the various scaling difficulty PVE events more difficult.
