Iv got 7, and i dont grind explore lol.

No, no gods.

Just like everything ever released in this game.

Go for things as soon as there released, as over time the rng tanks.

It was same with, the curse stuff, and the new dragons.

Everything gets a massive rng boost when 1st released, they can deny it, but iv 5 years of proof lol.

And what “proof” would that be? Enquiring minds would like to know.

Because it seems to me that an awful lot of the so-called “proof” is nothing more than flapping gums and people who do not understand just how probability works.

Ok small fry.

But there are facts as well with similar things as with the GAPs, when it first got released, don’t you remember how the band gnomes spammed like hell in in the GAPs, so one could basically go on unlimited with GAPs, then it got nerfed. That they nerfed the drop rates later on for the Hoard Mimic, is not a bad opinion even if it may not be backed up with “evidence”.

Ofc sometimes they will make a statement that something has been tweaked or nerfed, as with the GAPs. But I believe with smaller things, could be the Hoard Mimic, or books of deeds in the Underspire, we may never know if there was some tweaks. But it is still not a poor opinion if people wants to think so.

I remember the first weekend after the Hoard Mimic was released that my guildmates had no problem finding it that weekend. In fact most in my guild had found it!!! I was busy around that time so “I felt” I missed out on my chances and that something had been changed with the drop rates even after a handful of days in. It felt unfair. Telling me to show evidence to back this up with, won’t change anything.

I agree it’s likely they adjust rates soon after any launch, behind the scenes. Anything they won’t give us numbers for, we can assume they’re still tweaking them.
That’s not the same as having proof, though.

And we know sometimes, it’s the exact opposite. Dungeons were designed specifically to make it harder to get perfect runs, at launch, because the devs deliberately designed them so certain patterns had better odds and other patterns (the most common choices) were impossible to get a perfect run. They later changed it to be a random system, thus better odds for most players.

Personally, I’ve found a bunch of the Hoard Mimic, but I do a lot of explore on autoplay, and I gave up after months with no sight of getting it. Since giving up, I found one weeks later, then have found others weeks apart. I didn’t get it in the early days and have no reason to think the RNG was high, back then.
But it IS pure RNG, and I think that really sucks. I don’t think they’re ever likely to introduce a pity mechanic, because they want people grinding and chasing rare drops, but I think they should, because I hate the heavy RNG BS that’s crept into the game - the fact you can grind over and over, only to get nothing in return - and I want there to be ways around it, even if it takes large amounts of time or in-game resources.

I dissagree with you, but that is the beauty of the game. Hoard Mimic was sooo dropping easy back in the release weekend.

The devs obsession with rng in all aspects of the gane have ruined it for me. Looking at you immoral troops. The fact the each individual troop has its own souls is a disgusting rip off

Was that really the case?

Or did it seem that way because more people were actively hunting it at that time, for longer periods of time (and many more attempts), and therefore it’s a conclusion some jumped to on account of there being more data about it being hunted?

We see a fair amount of this in the forums, when people open up threads about some uncommon happenstance or another. Either that it “never” occurs for them, or that it “always” happens for the A.I. against them. Neither one means that the underlying percentages have changed; it’s just that some of those “extreme” events stick in our minds. And because the practical application of probability tells us that we should expect streaks and clumps of results without that meaning that somebody is playing with the odds.

I think you misunderstand what I’m saying. I’m not saying it wasn’t dropping easier. I’m saying I didn’t get one and therefore don’t know what the odds were. I can’t say if the odds were higher or lower, just that I was unlucky enough the odds were against me. Lots of other people have pointed out they got them during that time, and they’ve convinced the odds got changed. I think they might be right, but I’m just an outsider looking in and can’t know either way.

This is worth considering. It’s really difficult to know for sure. I suspect the odds were higher and got lowered, but I can’t prove it. So, I have to stay in the “I don’t know, but it seems likely” category.

We also see a an overwhelming lack of data presented when these claims are made beyond personal experience (usually without any actual numeric data) and emotions. For those who want to prove the devs are modifying rates or screwing you over, I genuinely encourage you to collect numerical data, especially data from a number of people beyond your own experience! If there is shady business going on (which is possible, as in the dungeon example mentioned above), we need numbers to prove it.

Hoard Mimics are wrapped behind multiple layers of randomess. I’m not sure what you’re talking about by suggesting people play “better” because a Hoard Mimic drop is soley at the game’s discretion. Gems of War does not care if you play the game “better”.

Not sure, but I think he meant, “play more”. It is basically the only thing we can do to increase the chances. Still no guarantee ofc.

Oh really who cares.

If you aint got it, unluckyyyy.

Its just a fake achievement. Lol no one will ever get a congratulations. For a game achievement. Its not exactly like getting the victory cross is it :rofl:

People that care for the achivement do care. Let them care, no need to stop them.

Theres caring and then theres making a mountain out of a mole hill.

People are actually trying to argue lmao.

Its a tad silly.
