I feel the need to vent a bit, because We are at the 2nd GW in ‘26 and things still don’t feel like they are were they should be.
I start with this crap from yesterdays fight
That shit is now bugged for some time again. Early December I thought “Oh my, holidays ahead, they probably had no time to fix it”. Early Janurary with first GW I thought “Oh my, they probably just came back from vacation. Let it slide”. It is now end of Janurary and AGAIN I can’t check the details of what was happening. How is it that when an event wrongly dishes out 10.000 shiny keys, that gets fixed like 8 hours later the same day, and then we get like three extra hotfixes the same week to take the wrongly attributed keys away and then the wrongly leveled shiny troops too, but a obvious bug for GW is persisting for months??
Next up: WHY can’t we still not see how good our Defenses did do? Yeah sure, we should have general overview in above result screen, even if that is bugged out for some time now too again. But we also WANTED and brought it up here often enough, that we want to see on an individual level how good our personal Defense works on a daily basis. You know, like in the good old GW days? Were we saw the W/L score and could decide if a Defense was good, average or plain useless and had to be changed? Seriously, we HAD this in old GW. Why is it taking this friggin long to get an essential feature back that should have been there day#1 of “new and improved GW”?
Talk about things not really working: The ladder movement. Apparently we now climb and fall a bit faster then last year, that is fine. Not fine however is how things are done. One month our guild had to fight tooth and nail against fierce bracket competition, next month we drop suddenly 20 places and its a bit mixed between solid fights and mopping up dead guilds 100 places below us.
Yesterday, we fought tooth and nail against a guild a few places above us, today we fight a dead guild with seemingly 95% AI teams which is probably again 100 places below us. I know that maybe some people cheer “free points” to climb up again but I am not one of those. I fight for the challenge. I want to see what good Defense Teams enemies throw at me, to not only prove myself, but also to learn some tricks from their defenses. I want to feel good when winning against a Guild on our level or even better ranked then us. I don’t want to mop the floor with shitty AI teams. Back in old GW days, we had solid brackets and the high the bracket the more intense the fights with the bracket neighbors. Seriously, get that back. High Guilds want to fight High Guilds to have ACTUAL fights. A rank#50 Guild should not fight someone in the top#10 and a rank 40 guild should not roflstomp a dead AI guild rank150. We had a working system here back in the old days. How hard is it to bring that back?? That would not even have any interaction with the new keep defense stuff in the first place. I am also seemingly not alone with this specific rant, since last GW I read enough complains in another topic about how this specific ranking problem as well. Apparently one top guild got some “freebie” meals instead of fighting top guilds for top placements and that, rightfully, was not what the high scoring guilds want at the top. Again, the old bracket system would easily solve this since it would cut out the “dead guilds” or low ranked cannonfodder point donations.
There is also still a lot to repeat in case of Attack Team restrictions or Defenses. Like Dag0 and Chrys for example are still no problem, but good forbid someone wants Stellarix or Wand of Stars in their Defense Team. Or how early this month we had a total shit GW with Stryx Attack team, becasue that Kingdom has a lot of not that useful cards, while this GW we get spoiled with a Divine Attack team. Besides the ultra imba Takshaka card, we have so many good cards to choose from and can even utilize Wand of Stars, that breezing through Defenses is like 10 times easier then last GW. While we can work with that, it hardly is a fair and balanced approach for a competeitve playmode. But that is still something that can be tackled with longterm balancing and maybe some kingdom reworks to make some cards maybe more useful. Or bring them up to todays rapid mana generation and true damage “three turns to win” matches meta. Still an issue, but not the most pressing imo right now, compared to the above points.
So dear devs, any chance that THIS YEAR, GW might finally get some hard needed attention instead of some sloppy band-aid? Any roadmap here when to expect something?
