Guild wars pushed out

@Jeto can you share any update regarding this move?

The whole schedule is always subject to change, as is when I share my monthly blog.

In this instance, we moved it out so the next GW would be after the 9.0 update

Why is that??? Maybe because of all the errors and the lack of matchmaking?:sweat_smile:

Horrible move, if you ask me.
I, for one, am absolutely not happy with this.
It’s the december month, we are all having a busy schedule with the holiday season.

Why not just leave it as scheduled and push the next guild war back?

I’ve had plenty of annoyances with this company but are you just trolling at this point? Jeto said it was to avoid Guild Wars coming out at the same time as the 9.0 update. Which, let’s be honest here - if they released them together and there were bugs that interfered with Guild Wars - people would be screaming about that. I know that because people have in the past. And they also sensibly suggested that releasing an update at the same time as Guild Wars isn’t the best idea.

If we want them to listen to our reasonable suggestions, we have to, you know - stay reasonable. Otherwise the forums just become a place where they can’t win anyway, so why bother trying.

I am sorry you took offense, that was certainly not my intention.
And I am not trolling.

For me having guild war the week before Christmas is far from ideal, so maybe my response was an emotional one.

I apologize for my original misunderstanding, but when Jeto said “we moved it back so the next guild war would be after the 9.0 update” I read that as the guild war after the coming one.
So it really did not make any sense to me!

And yes, I agree it is very important to stay reasonable.
I always try doing that.
But I misread Jeto’s post, again: sorry.

Pushing guild war back because of the coming 9.0 update is very logical and I can understand that totally.

But on a personal level I responded to the new date being so close to Christmas in a very busy month.

I get it, and I’m sorry that I assumed the worst. I just really feel bad for Jeto at this point because I do believe they’re trying their level best but the developers are just wildly out of touch and don’t really listen to our feedback. So then Jeto takes a lot of hits for things outside their control.

For what it’s worth, I’m not thrilled about it being near Christmas either, though I do feel like it’d be impossible to avoid the holidays altogether since it’s we have such an extended holiday season (at least in the US). TBH, I’d be happy if they just….forgot about Guild Wars altogether next month. Particularly since as a GM it’s apparently my job now to harass people into setting defense teams. Sorry, random rant there. But I do agree with you about it not being ideal to be so close to Christmas. And again, sorry that I didn’t pick up on your sincerity. I should have given you the benefit of the doubt.

Glad we got the air cleared and the misunderstanding out of the world.

Jeto is doing an amazing job, couldn’t agree more there.

And yes, being in a guild war focused guild and the work it involves, with this new date for GW, I would rather skip this one too and start fresh after the update in January!

A guild war a few days before Christmas and taking place over the weekend when some players will be on public transport to join their families or holiday destinations, what a brilliant idea, yet another disaster in the making with the number of players who will be absent for this next GW, remind me of the big theme you put forward a few months ago “quality of life”, well here is a fine but negative example.

@333DRAGON It’s 4 days with 5 battles! Surely you have time for that in this game?!?

“Before the War begins.

Guild leaders and 2nd in rank will be able to opt in for the upcoming event, as well as select if they want to remain opted in for all future Guild Wars events till they opt out.
