I am checking if there are any people who are in the same situation as my guild. I checked the guild wars tab to view what the restriction for the week is and we’ve been inexplicably opted out. We’ve never opted out of the newer version of guild wars ever. I’m wondering whether this is a bug or if some guild member accidentally switched it (my guild leader and some of the higher ranking members said they didn’t).

So far, in every instance of someone reporting they have been opted out without doing so.. someone in their guild has opted them out.
And in the case of your Guild, every instance they have been opted out, as been because a player has done so.
Your Guild was opted out 3 weeks ago, and then its been a back and forth of opting in and out over the past 14 hours.
In the end, if your Guild is not opted in to Guild Wars before weekly reset you will not be in the current Guild Wars.

Translation: SevenSidedBox, review who in your Guild has access to GW opt-in/opt-out and if this is a problem, demote the user by a rank so they can’t mess it up again.

Doesn’t it even show up in the guild activity log who opted the guild in/out?

Yes it does. I’ve opted out by accident myself and immediately fixed my mistake. Both the opt out and out in showed up in the activity log.

Thanks everyone for the answers. I checked the guild log and filtered it for guild wars and it turns out someone did switch the status to opt out 27 days ago. I’m guessing that was when the last GW ended and this was most likely accidental. All the opt-ins and opt outs yesterday was a bunch of us turning it in off and on trying to see if we could fix it and participate this week. We never noticed because the game doesn’t really notify you when a switch happens and we rarely check the log anyway (no real reason to).

There is no such setting.

The solution, as Stratelier noted, is to demote anyone you don’t want to change your Guild Wars state to rank 3 or below.
