Gowhead - a fan-made companion site for Gems of War

Hi everyone,

I’ve been building gowhead for a while and wanted to share it here. It’s a companion site for Gems of War that brings together your progress, teams, guild tools and a lot more in one place. Here’s what’s on it:

Your account. Enter your invite code and the site builds an overview from your own data - stats, pet and kingdom bonuses, collection progress, achievements, Soulforge and more, all in one place instead of digging through in-game menus.

My Progress. It doesn’t just track how far along you are - it works out the cheapest, most efficient way to get further. It looks at what you have and figures out the optimal upgrade path, so you know where to spend your resources instead of guessing. It’s also highly customizable: you can rearrange or hide columns and groups so you see what’s relevant to you. If you’ve got a long list of goals and limited resources, this does the planning for you.

Teams. A collection of teams shared by other players - PvP, events, delves. If you’re stuck on something or just looking for ideas, it’s a decent place to find a team that works.

Guild overview. GMs get an overview of their guild, covering the members who are also signed in to the site. It’s GM only - nobody else in the guild can see it.

Guild Wars. Leaderboards for the current war, plus a comparison with the previous war’s standings so you can see how your guild is doing. There’s also a calculator that tells you how many points you’d get for a win or a loss against a given guild.

Tower of Doom. A shared map your guild fills in together during the event - everyone adds what they find, so the whole guild can coordinate and see the map at a glance.

Soulforge. Right on the homepage it shows the mythics and legendaries you can craft at the moment. And if you’re logged in, it also tells you how many copies of each you already own - or whether you’re missing it entirely.

Card sources. When a troop, pet or weapon comes from a specific source, the card shows it as an icon in the top-right corner - so you can tell at a glance where to actually find it.

Filters. You can filter way beyond what’s possible in-game - by weapon affixes, by troop traits, by shiny levels, and with dynamic filters that combine conditions. Pick the “create gems” filter, for example, and you can narrow it down to exactly which gem colors you’re after.

Notifications. You can get alerts for the things you don’t want to miss - Guild Wars, new content as it lands, and Soulforge whenever a troop you don’t own yet comes up for crafting. On mobile you’ll need to add the site to your home screen first for alerts to work.

What’s new. The site tracks the latest content as it arrives - new troops, pets, kingdoms and weekly stuff. The whole site is available in all seven in-game languages.

There’s more on the site than I can fit in one post - best to just have a look around.

It’s just a hobby project, not affiliated with the developers. If something’s off or you’d like to see a tool added, let me know - that’s part of why I’m posting.

Thanks for reading, hope you find it useful!

Just rehighlighting this, just in case.

Also, just a reminder to everyone, always be careful sharing any of your account information with a 3rd party or a tool that uses your invite code to pull your data.

Totally agree - good advice for any third-party tool.

Worth clarifying the difference though: gowhead only ever uses your invite code, which is read-only. It can’t change anything on your account and there’s no password or login involved. The bigger risk is with tools that ask for your invite code and password - that’s where you really want to be careful. With just an invite code there’s a lot less to worry about, but people should still only use tools they trust, mine included.

And to be clear: anything password-related will never be added to the site - invite code only, always.

I was so excited when Lebedev first announced this project. This is the successor to Taransworld I’ve been waiting for. It’s got a ton of useful features and is a great resource for players!

It sure would be nice if the devs actually put some of these tools IN the game, so we didn’t have to rely on 3rd party tools. I mean, we’ve only been asking for some of this stuff for like a decade or so. Hope they look into it soon.

Added a couple of things to gowhead, with the upcoming Explore update in mind.

Explore survivability. There’s a new survivability breakdown in My Progress. For each kingdom and each difficulty it shows the highest survivability - life and armor, with the weekly +10% bonus included. It only goes up to Epic on purpose, since Legendaries and Mythics aren’t really what you face most of the time. The Explore section also shows, for each kingdom, how many of its troops reduce skull and spell damage, summon on death and reborn.

Footer. Reworked the footer and added links to a few other useful GoW resources.

Looks great! It could be nice to have life + armor totals so users don’t have to add them manually (to see if Chrys can one-shot, for example)

Good idea, but I left it out on purpose: adding totals widens the table, so fewer kingdoms fit. And showing only totals would break it for true damage teams, where armor doesn’t matter. The split keeps it compact and works for every case.

Could you add a toggle, so it switches between life+armour vs total?
Would keep things compact and give greater abilities to determine strategic options.

Is there any option to view which troops haven’t been in the Soulforge cycle yet?

That’s useful… but I don’t get what I’m looking at. Are the lit up ones still to come in the current cycle or already been? I assume the four solidly blocked out are currently in the forge. It could use a key just to be clearer. Otherwise, I’d wait a few days and see what changes.
Either way, thanks, it’s good to know what’s likely to come up, especially with the gold mark troops, as I’m saving diamonds to grab them.

Solid filled = current.
Tinted = has already been in the cycle before.
Faded = not yet appeared.

So stylish and very useful, thank you!

This is great but a little confusing. The health and armor shows up to epic but the skull/spell/summon/reborn include legendaries and mythics.

I suggest adding a column for submerge. It’s important to know which kingdoms have such troops if you can’t oneshot them. Aquatic is the most important trait here. Not sure how to handle troops like Undine (at the start of the turn) or Leviathan (on 4 or 5 matches).

Added a column for submerging troops.

This is awesome. This long-time player truly appreciates you for putting so much time and effort and passion into this project. I’ve just scratched the surface so far and it’s pure gold all the way down. Thank you for sharing it with us.
