Hello fellow matchmakers!

I’m currently at what I believe is the midgame, and I keep on trying to search for things online to help me, only to find out a lot of dead links to GoWDB, and the slightly undermaintained wiki.

So in order to help myself and others, I’ve built KrystaraDB. It’s still very rough around the edges, to be honest I kind of ran out of steam so I’m putting it out there to get some feedback and garner some interest and see if it’s a useful resource for the community.

Main features:

Search - It is currently mostly mirroring the in-game functionality, but I have lots of knobs and dials I want to add in to it. Filtering by traits will be very cool imo

Spoilers - Can’t say I’m too interested in this myself, as I am still catching up with current content, but people seem to be really into it, so it might help alleviate some pressure off the people maintaining the current spoilers pages

Full game dataset - That’s honestly where the majority of the effort went into, I set up a fully automated process that gets the latest data from the game, as well as image extraction, and it is all now running in the background on an old machine that only sounds a little bit like a jet taking off every now and then :joy:

Next Steps:

UI - Leaves a lot to be desired, would love some feedback as to how I can arrange things better on the pages.

Other game resources - Things such as Kingdom power and leveling tables would be very useful imho (again, mid-game player here)

Events calendar - I often ask myself when’s the next vault weekend happening (so often it’s happening sometimes in my sleep

??? - Other stuff? What would you like to see? Let’s collaborate :slight_smile:

Wow, that is looking amazing! I really like the layout and design.
It’s well thought out and I find it very easy to read the spoilers for example. Incorporating the graphics is fantastic!

An idea that you might like:

  • searching your Hero classes by a specific trait: Let’s say you want to have Barrier when matching Brown Gems but you also want to have Enchant when matching Green Gems. It would be nice to have a search or filter that you can select say Tree of Knowledge and then it gives you the possible combinations.

I need any of the available community sources to display what the awakened traits are for Immortals (level 30 versions)..

I’ve also been wanting a way to filter Bounty troops only. (I know I can do it in-game, but then I’m not able to look up say.. a Bounty troop related to skulls/skull storms etc.)

I think the UI is great! Keeping it simple sometimes means it’s the easiest to read

Is it possible to track the Soulforge mythic troop rotation cycle? Also, some troops only become available from chests 3–4 weeks after the campaign ends. Can you track that as well?

I’m considering this, but it goes a little against a core constraint I set myself which is to not use any information not directly derivable from the game client itself.

This is excellent, great work!

The effort to fetch the data maybe wasn’t required. There are Json files created by Taran and hosted by Gary that contain most (if not all) of the data. One of the files contains data for an Events Calendar too.

Gary also hosts extracted assets.

Another website with some overlap was launched recently, created by Lebedev.

I recommended that you join the GoW Alliance Discord. Taran, Gary, Lebedev, NerdieBirdie (The Taranium) and El Duderino (Gemologica) are there.

There are channels listing tools, guides and resources such as yours and an opt-in channel for coders (just ask a moderator for access to that).

I have been maintaining a PDF of spoilers (The Dragon’s Eye).

With the arrival of your site and Lebedev’s I’m inclined to retire that soon. My PDF includes restrictions for most upcoming events and projected sources for spoilers (cash, chests etc). They’re not difficult to infer, if you want to chat about those or the Event Calendar data, you can DM me here or we can chat in the GoW Alliance Discord if you choose to join.

This is very cool! Looks like a lot of duplicated effort for sure :sweat_smile:

I guess I’m going to focus on troop search which is what I needed the most, and might end up just taking some assets from the above resources instead of extracting them directly, but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy the challenge.

Is it possible or simple to add a feature where if you select the “Knowledge” tree, that it automatically filters the results so that you’re left with only the classes that combine with it?

It would make it much easier to see what the options are (or if there are any) with a desired combination. :grinning_face:

Also, thank you for how you set up the spoilers page. I really appreciate that it shows everything releasing in the same group (i.e. troop and weapon of the week). :heart_eyes:

So, I’ve noticed this website hasn’t updated in a couple of weeks. It still shows troops from March 9th as spoilers for me. Those troops are not included in the search function.
