Also a Danish philosopher, which I think is the reference.

It took me a long time to get into this album. I had been feeling like each album was less good than the last even as their popularity exploded.

That was their first studio release and was HUGE in Canada. I agree it was pretty-much perfect and sounded like nothing that anyone else was doing.
