Your alliance rank needs to be high enough to qualify for gold mark battles.

It’s actually something you can “fix” in-day: fight PvP battles until you’ve topped 1500 total VP and the gold mark regions will appear the next time you (re)start the game. That’s what I had to do, because I had only earned ~500 VP yesterday; I grinded out the remainder this afternoon so I could get to my gold marks, even though it’ll hurt my ability to finish below the “cut line” in my Diamond League bracket for the week.

There is also a known issue where they are not rewarded, once you do qualify for those battles: PvP Gold Mark Region bonus not received : Infinity Plus 2

There is a pretty trivial way to circumvent the issue. Instead of voiding all VP from the previous PvP season, carry over just enough to reach Legionary VIII. The amount required is very low and shouldn’t have any game related side effects, the change is entirely server side without requiring a client update. The Legionary VIII rule is around to prevent daily alliance hopping for gold marks, this would still be in effect.

The VP being cleared is already an existing QOL, and I have no updates on that.
I purely made that post to just remind people they need to be that Rank for Gold marks, as it was appearing everywhere.

That isn’t what I’m proposing though. Carrying over all VP is likely similar to removing the class change fee, it took several years to get that accomplished because it didn’t fit into the business plan. Carrying over up to 1500 VP (the amount needed to start out at Legionary VIII) has far less impact. Players usually gain that much in a day or two, so it might be possible to hand that out as perceived freebie without having to wait till the next PvP rework in half a decade.

The QOL as a whole, does include that - carrying over a ratio or an amount from the previous Season. So then it does clear, to an extent, but then an amount carries over.
I also don’t expect there to be a huge wait on QOLs for existing game modes, as it is becoming the focus for this year is to work on existing mechanics and not new content. I would expect eyes on PVP again within this year, but I have no idea in what capacity or what will be looked at. Can only just share what I have to the team.
