Yeah, I really like my Kindle Fire HD. Would be nice to have GoW on it. It was one of the 1st apps I looked for. My old Nook from years ago has access to, and can play, GoW … but my newer Kindle Fire HD can’t? Doesn’t make sense.
I bought a Kindle Fire in the Amazon sale for £29.00 yesterday. Got it today. Downloaded 4 APK files via Amazon Silk browser and ES file manager. Installed to load Google Play. Downloaded and linked my account and now I am playing GOW on my new little 7" fire. Yay. Much easier to sling in my handbag than the iPad Air 2.

there is a step by step instructions https://www.xda-developers.com/ to convert a kindle fire into a regular tablet that can play GOW. I know we’ve done it to all of ours.

You have to do a search on their site. My hubby ises it and wasnt where he
could send the direct link.

How is performance?
Performance is fine. 
I followed the instructions here (https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/get-google-play-on-fire-tablet) to add google play to my Kindle Fire HD 8 (7th edition) and then installed GOW.
When I opened GOW it prompted me to install the latest version of Google Play Games. After that I got into GOW, linked my accounts and I was good to go. Seems to be working fine.
