Gems needed but no way to earn them

I have been playing for years now and the cost of events or offers are outrageous! We need a way to earn more gems so we can play out more than one event when there are several going on. I sink money into gems just to get by and it still isn’t enough. The cost of gems in guild task is crazy! 400,000 gold for 100 gems. We have a bunch of new low level players that can’t contribute much so two of us put in ar least one and half million just to get task done. Like let’s get rid of the gnome cards in the vault and give out couple hundred gems. I do gnomapalooza every gnome event and it has gotten harder to even get keys for vault. Can we go back to the good gnome events where you get multiple keys and gnomes drop off gems as well?? I did 4 gnomapaloozas last event and only got 30 keys! It used to be over double that! Let’s reward loyal players and encourage them to keep playing because the frustration is running high! Plus it cost too much to play more than one event with the amount of gems needed to play and the lack of opportunities to earn them.

Get in a better guild. Do Vault events with a real team and redeem keys. Pretty easy to get gems. I get 20 - 30 keys per gap. You do need to get the glitch were it skips the display of explore progressing. I just keep smashing keys on xbox. It eventually stops. Why did they add that? Remove it.

After the game went to Prestige, I have seen that I earn a lot more gems off of hourly tribute than I used to. It’s only an average of 5 gems more, but you can make a lot of gems if your kingdoms are high prestige just checking in hourly as often as you can.

The new player experience, when it comes to gold, is different now. New players no longer have to budget spending gold to get the kingdoms to level 10 AND get access to the Underworld a lot earlier than before. That means new players can set up a farm delve earlier in the experience and will also be in a position much earlier to be a gold contributor for an active guild.

As for events, I am a big believer in picking and choosing which events to play. Guild events should always be top priority. However, I don’t see the need to spend gems in Underspire anywhere near as much as I used to. The new prestige tasks make the Thursday Class Trial nearly meaningless, and I have always believed that spending gems in Bounty is more trouble than it’s worth.

It should be speeding gems to 2 times daily until you spend the lantern on the 6th dragon for double reward. You are losing out with the new loot. You can get rainbow gems and xp along the way.

Wow, you seem to have it all backwards. Bounty is a tier 5 buy and great loot. It takes about an hour + next day sigils to complete. Use Chrsy.

Underspire clarification - Underspire does have good rewards. I rarely see any rewards in the trap rooms except trinkets, personally. The last two boss rooms are where the value is at, but it requires two lanterns and 150 gems/day. That’s not something I will do every week (or even close) especially since I have better access to medal farming in Explore 16.

Bounty clarification - I don’t skip Bounty Hunts; I just don’t buy extra sigils or the event captain. Hero + 3 previous Bounty Hunters will win most of the rewards the event has to offer. The remaining rewards are not worth the gems to get them.

T3 in Bounty usually is enough to get to Reward 19. Especially when you use a blue orb to upgrade the new captain. Or you just want to sacrifice points for speed and pick the hero instead. Whatever works. But rewards in Bounty are the worst of all events.

Underspire on the other hand has the best rewards of all game modes. Still I stopped spending 1500 gems each week because I need my gems for T6 in team events. But I still spend 50 gems each day to get to the 4th boss. That way I’m getting bronze and silver orbs for my legendary and mythic troops. A good deal for me and I’m not out of gems every week.

In Underspire? Assuming you don’t lose a battle, you can probably clear everything if you spend 50 + 100 + 150 on Monday and Tuesday, then 50 + 100 on Weds / Thurs / Fri / Sat, and then buy extra torches on an “as you need it” basis on Sunday. (Sunday varies, because variance gets introduced based on the map, based on how many torches drop from Sentinel rooms, plus the contents of the Powder Room. I’ve had weeks where I haven’t even had to play on Sunday, and I’ve had weeks where I needed to spend 50 + 100 + 150 to get to everything.)

Regarding Bounty? I stopped playing it long ago, because the rewards simply aren’t worth it for me. When I used to play, buying Tier II and playing all the battles with a x30 team multiplier without losing and without missing a Valraven was usually sufficient to get through Reward 19. That would typically “refund” the gems spent in the first place plus the other stuff, but it was too much of a chore for me in return for rewards I didn’t care for.

Then again, I’m at the opposite end of the spectrum from TC. I get 37 gems in each and every tribute now without fail, only I don’t feel as if I have enough to spend them on now that Deeds are gone from the Merchant. Not that Deeds showed up especially often, and even now the appearance rate of the Merchant has been further nerf’ed, but it was something. I’ve started playing 3 Arenas per day praying for crystals to appear, and even so my stash of Gems is growing at a decent pace.

I love Bounty and it’s great loot! Totally agree

Definitely been trying to log in every hour and I agree seems like there is more gems on log in. I don’t play underspire very often but I do love doing bounty.

I will try doing underspire more often! And great idea on not spending extra on bounty! I will definitely try that approach! Thank you

I love Bounty but agree rewards could definitely be better! I also do ascending orb like you do to ascending my captain on bounty so that helps not use as many gems. Thank you for sharing

When it comes to the Underspire, it’s totally fair to just use your free torches and clear up to Area 2. The Area 2 Boss gives a decent amount of Kingdom XP. Even if you’re not in the mood to do The Underspire for the week, it’s highly recommended to do at least one battle and then claim the free Lantern from the Merchant in the next room. The Lanterns carry over every week even when the torches do not.

Nice! Great idea! Thank you

100% correct. Doing at least enough weekly to get the free lantern and anything else easily available is perfectly reasonable for Underspire.

I appreciate all the help and advice!!!

Do you have an excess of gold or glory? If so, you can use them to open chests. It won’t give you insane amounts of gems, but if you’re not using those resources anywhere else, and you need gems right away, might as well do that. It can be annoying opening large amounts of chests, though.
You can also do treasure hunts, if you have spare time. Most players wind up with huge numbers of treasure maps, because treasure hunt isn’t very good for rewards, compared to other modes. But you can get a gem or two per battle, if you’re lucky, once you get used to it. Again, it can be annoying trying to do lots of those, but if you have time and need gems, it’s an option. Just make sure you’re trying to make as many of the green chests as possible, and don’t match them together to make the red ones (Pretty sure I have that the right way round). They have the same chance to give gems, so you get three attempts from three green chests and only one attempt from one red chest. So better to play the hunt fast, get as many green chests as possible, and end the hunt before you match them together.
Also, a lot of stuff seems expensive early on. It feels hard to build up a stockpile of any currency, but eventually you hit a point where it gets easier. If you’re struggling to get enough gems, it might just be that you’re at a place in the game where you’re spending a lot of them, and once you get past that stage you’ll start getting a lot more and spending less. Just stick with it, hopefully the tips people share can help you get to where you’re not worrying about gems any more.

These are great tips! I haven’t done treasure hunts in awhile and I have a ton of glory! I am gonna try all of these! Thank you for sharing :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: i appreciate you!

Not sure if they fixed it, but be aware that there was a bug where the game would freeze sometimes when starting treasure hunts. If it happens, you have to quit out and restart the game. It wastes a map, but if you have a lot it’s more annoying losing time than maps. Good luck, though.
