Faction Expansion - Indrajit's Palace

This weekend Indrajit’s Palace is getting an expansion. The faction’s Deep Delve will become available for players to enjoy (once they complete Delve Level 100 or higher). It will also be gaining a new Epic Troop – the Hellclaw Shadowpriest. This troop will be available in the event shop this weekend, and will appear in…

I like how the gimmick of Indrajit’s Palace is that it is heavily focused on Red AND Purple Gems. 1 Troop creates 9 Red Gems and 9 Purple Gems. 2 Troops make a Hellstorm on cast. 3 Troops have a boost ratio based on Red and Purple Gems.

and the new troop says “Nah, I’m just going to boost only on Purple Gems and I’m going to have a trait that starts the battle with only a Purple storm.”

Insult to injury, the designer thought it was a good idea for this troop to have the exact same matching colors as the faction Legendary (Red/Purple), the one troop that’s almost guaranteed to be used in a Pure Faction.

The only saving grace is that this troop is an absolute dud so no one will ever use it long enough to care about anything I just said.

Where’s the love for this game from the dev team?

What about Hell Gate? It’s really Hell Gate’s turn to expand. Factions were introduced in the following order: Dripping Caverns (April 2 '21), Hell Gate (April 30 '21), Indrajit’s Palace (June 11 '21), Dark Court (July 30 '21).

We don’t have much info on him yet, but we will get a Hell Gate expansion in March. I really hope he’s a good tank because it would go a long way to making that faction easier. Dealing with the long slog to the boss room, while having to deal with the bonestorm and other horrors is an experience I never want to deal with again.

And yeah, another faction expansion that gives us another useless troop this weekend. They could have at least made his mana colors different and make him give barrier or something. Maybe if the dev team tried doing level 500 pure faction runs, but we all know the answer to that question…
