During certain events, new temporary currencies are added that we earn, over the course of a set time period, such as a week, which have no limit (AFAIK) to how many we can collect, but only do something when we reach a certain milestone, or several milestones, then they continue building up, but have no purpose.
Can you give us something in exchange when the event ends, rather than us collecting tons of these currencies and them just vanishing?
Like, right now, we have a Legends Reborn event. And we have to collect “Wild Spirit” currency, but as soon as we have 200, we unlock everything. Yet, we continue earning them over the week. And we don’t get anything for them.
I’m not asking for anything crazy, like 50 gems for every unit of these currencies (though, that would be nice), just like 10 gold or 1 glory for 100 currency would be something. It just feels weird collecting huge amounts of something, with no leaderboard or any reason for it, and not getting anything in return.
And yeah, it’d probably just be some currency many of us already have tons of, that we don’t care much about, unless you want to throw something rarer and more valuable in for players who hit certain amounts, but even just low level currency would be helpful to newer players, who would feel like there was some point in earning these currencies beyond the amount required.
With Legends Reborn it is not a spendable currency, in the same way a Holiday Event is with a Shop.
In the Holiday Event we could add more items to the shop and suggest the currency can convert into a resource, but with Legends Reborn it would be more like adding more Tiers that can be unlocked, and then possibly a situation where remaining currency becomes something else.
The concern with adding more Tiers is, is that some players may feel like they have to unlock every tier during the event and if that is a challenge, then it usually just comes back to me as a complaint that it is not possible in the time frame of the event.
Even if it is intentionally a challenge, or a stretch goal to be able to unlock EVERYTHING in an event.
Either way, I passed the feedback onto the team to consider in future!
I think @Zuul-Emo was trying to hint at a growing problem in this game…piles and piles of resources that we cannot make use of….
Ingots, trait stones, and souls grow increasingly less and less valuable, and most players that are 1000+, don’t really have a use for them anymore. Even if we could change those resources into gold, glory, or keys, it would at least be something. Everything should have a use and nothing a should feel like it is “wasted.”
That’s another issue we have in the game, that I’d love to see a solution for. Being able to use up currencies, somehow, rather than feeling like stuff is being wasted or over-stockpiling, especially when we know the game has issues when stuff like gold gets too high. Just look at treasure maps. Still usable, but most players have tons of them and rarely (if ever) use any of them.
Hopefully the additional (hypothetical) tiers are somewhat reasonable continuations of what we have and isn’t ballooned into Kill 100,000 Yellow Troops for 30 Diamonds
Or even just a repeatable final goal of kill 100 Yellow Troops for a Shiny Key or something where it’s nice to have but not the end of the world if we miss one or two.
What we don’t need is a repeat of the Arena event reward system with a scaling repeatable event requirement that balloons into unreachable quickly with low quality rewards to go with it.
