Epic Vault Keys are substantially harder to obtain than regular vault keys. The vendor sells them for 360 gems as opposed to 120 gems for the standard vault key. I get very irritated when my award is a troop card (typically Cedric). All the other loot pulls are upgraded versus the standard vault key but the troop card. Epic vault keys should award two troop cards instead of one troop card like the standard vault key. Further, when troop card is the prize…two Cedric cards are not the solution. One card can be a vault troop but the other card should always be a tarot card.
It’s actually far worse.
Standard vault key:
- 3 rolls on the minor loot table
- 1 roll on the Cedric loot table
Epic vault key:
- 3 rolls on the minor loot table
- 1 roll on the Cedric loot table, if it hits a base reward the payout gets increased
Which leads to the highly dissatisfying situation that whenever you pull something good with an epic vault key (360 gems), you get exactly the same as you would have received from a standard vault key (120 gems).
Proposal. The Cedric loot table currently has two components:
- Base rewards, which is resources like gold, souls, keys and gems
- Special rewards, which is troops like tarots, gnomes and the way too prominent Cedric
Epic vault keys shouldn’t roll once on the Cedric loot table and increase the payout only if it hits a base reward. Instead, they should roll once on the base rewards and increase the payout, then additionally roll once on the special rewards. This would also help to address the issue that it is currently next to impossible to obtain some of the tarot troops needed for crafting purposes.
Not to forget to obligatory Daemon Gnome in Epic Vault, which takes away one possible useful reward to force Chaos Shards onto us.
It was proposed to change the daemon gnome with a curse gnome when the updated the soulforge to levels 11 and beyond.
And again with the introduction of gem dragons, to change it to a dragonite gnome.
But, if I remember correctly, they said it would destroy the economy because people were hoarding them and had an advantage over others.
Doesn’t make sense. They can do a random gnome instead of a fixed one. They can do better dupe protection and rework epic rewards to be more useful. Currently late game players have no use for vault except for the money.
And it’s pure laugh to see this statement of economic. How many redundant useless resources out there?
Shiny keys being the latest, useless edition. Made all the more obvious when they gave us thousands by mistake. Exalted keys were better but there is only one way to get em. Another wasted resource
