Does color of chest determine what Sentinel you can get?
I am down to the Daemonic and Giant Sentinels. Shold I only open certain colored chests?
No, the colour only indicates rarity, which in turn explains what drop table you’re pulling from.
Sentinels can be received from any Underspire chests (including the white “common”) but at different % chances.
Which Sentinel you get is also random.

I have yet to find any correlation between the rarity of chest and which Sentinel pops out on those rare occasions when one does.
I have also yet to find any correlation between which region of the Underspire and the Sentinel that very rarely pops out.
I have also yet to find any correlation between which Sentinel you fight in the precursor battle and which one pops out of the chest.
Near as I can tell, it’s completely random. So the only thing that might help is to set up an altar somewhere and start offering sacrifices to RNGeezus.

@NerdieBirdie collected lots of data on this - iirc your sentinel drop rate chances are slightly higher in mythic and legendary treasure rooms, regardless of section/color.

After months of no drops, I got 2 this week. I do not buy anything but free. Down to 2 missing.
I’ve seen just one Mythic chest in about a year. Before that, I was seeing at least one most weeks.
No idea if that means something, but it does feel mean.
