Current PvP promotes repetitive metas

One of the biggest complaints that has always been true about PvP is that you end up fighting the same teams over and over. What’s making it worse now is we can’t use quick slots to change things up, so everyone just sets the same team and never changes it because it’s a hassle w/out quick slots.

What’s making this worse is we can’t set our defenders, so the likelihood of seeing the same team over and over is doubled! Forcing us to use the same team for both attack and defense makes PvP very shallow with no thought or strategy behind it. Lastly, our attack teams have always been kept secret from our opponents. It’s none of their business what teams we are using!!!

The new PvP and alliances should have never been rolled out while the above problems. You can’t get people excited about change when the basic fundamental architecture is broken and nonsensical. It’s baffling how this amazing game has so many great ideas yet so many self destructive implementations.

I can’t say I agree with this. There are some meta teams, yes, especially using everyone’s favorite star-themed dragon and weapon. But this new PvP is far, FAR better in terms of team variety. With the old system and current troops, you’d only be fighting star-themed teams, because every battle would essentially be a modern-day Central Spire team. That is, Central Spire is almost exactly what the old PvP system would be today with current troops. I hear you, we see those meta teams a lot, but the kingdom restrictions force players to use different teams.

I’ve been finding myself using troops which had been collecting dust on my collection for ages (the gray king, for example, among many others). I’m a big fan of the increased variety from the old system. Love it or hate it, blood frenzy also makes you team-build differently, which I see as a fun challenge (and it’s optional anyways).

That being said, I’m absolutely a proponent of PvP-specific team slots for ease of access, which would reduce copy-pasting and make the system both more diverse and less cumbersome.

Hiya. Love how you are always so positive. :slightly_smiling_face:

I agree that the various restriction based areas do promote wider variations within those areas but this will improve when defenders are separate from attack teams. Many just note the restriction and copy a team they see and never change anything up.

The new system is great but will be much better with teams slots and defenders. Not sure about you but I’ve come up with some attack teams that are really awesome and would become metas if everyone saw them, so I’m not using them until attack teams aren’t automatically made as defenders for all to see.

The foundation is set for great PvP. Fingers crossed they bring back defenders and quick slots. :crossed_fingers:

Absolutely! I want to say they talked about having defense teams in the future (and potentially a penalty for losing defense battles). As you said, we’ve got a good basis for a potentially great system, but there’s certainly room to improve!

So true! @NerdieBirdie is the most positive being on this forum! :star_struck:

I just wanted to say that as well, because it’s really appreciated. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The new buffs have also added to that diversity. I’m using skull based teams a lot more now than I have in the past, and occasionally see other player’s teams that looked like they must have been relying on the same buffs.

Shh, dont mention the great rewards. Five books this week instead of waiting 5 years to get 5 books.
