Campaign Stars

I know that campaign stars are only rewarded in these fights: Events, Story, PvP, Explore (Difficulty IV+), Delves and Pet Rescues.

What I want to know is WHY only these fights. Why not Daily, Underspire or Arena? Does anyone know?

I’m wondering because I like to play Arena a lot and I haven’t been getting stars from it. I may have to play Explore just so I can get the stars I need because I don’t like PvP.

Edit: I now just completed a campaign task in Arena (favored enemy), so why doesn’t it reward stars as well?

I could be mistaken, but I believe that the awarding of campaign stars is linked to the “level” of your opposition. That you only get stars above a particular threshhold, which is why you don’t see them in certain game modes. (Or why you don’t get them in lower-level Explore.)

It not related to your opponent at all, it’s a flat amount from the specific game modes listed.

I imagine it is excluded from Underspire and Area, to just push players to complete battles in other areas in the game or areas of the game that players will most often already be playing in. Instead of having them in game modes that they may not play daily

The goal being, you should be able to earn Stars without making any changes to your daily play. Not everyone plays Arena or Underspire.

And as they are in so many other game modes, you aren’t really at a loss for them not being in Arena and Underspire as well.

Sorry, that doesn’t make any sense at all, to me.
If every game mode gave stars, how would that push you to play modes you don’t like? Surely how it is now, where only some modes give stars, would push some players to do modes they don’t like, because if they like the modes that don’t give stars, they have to play modes they don’t like or else get no stars.

If the goal is to give stars to players without changing the way they play, let them play any mode and give them stars. Anything else will change the way players play.

Oh yeah, I agree. But as someone who has dealt with community feedback before, even if you do not need to do an event/game mode, once there is a resource that is available from there, there are some players who think of that as a pressure to complete that event.

There is also a balance between, having Stars from battles and then what’s the point of them existing at all, if they are just everywhere.

Which actually describes the current situation quite accurately. What players don’t like is feeling forced to play specific events/game modes to obtain a resource only available in limited amounts in order to not miss out. That’s what the campaign is doing, it limits earning campaign stars to specific battles, it could just grant them for every battle (except possibly training). The limitation doesn’t even make sense from player perspective, it’s like whoever came up with that rule just didn’t know which game modes exist.
