This must have been the by far biggest reward track nerf in the history of the game. It’s all worthless stuffing now, no dragonite, no deeds, no books, even new players that just installed the game will find most of it useless once the campaign ends. Looking at the numbers, playing the Free Track for a year will sum up to less than running a single Gnome-a-Palooza.
Any chance to get at least a single bone thrown in for F2P players that play through the whole 10 weeks of the campaign? I know there’s also the new Campaign Goals, but those are decoupled from the campaign, they can be collected by playing any battles, not just the subset of battles that count for the reward tracks. As it currently stands, the Free Track could be removed entirely, and nobody would miss out.
It’s sort of true-ish. The problem is that the interesting rewards have been moved out of the campaign track structure to the campaign tasks. Which leads to the curious situation that the campaign track itself is now mostly a waste of time, unless you paid for it. Campaign tasks complete just by playing, the campaign track requires playing a far more limited set of battles.
I’m not sure I understand the story being told here. If F2P is not supposed to interact with the new campaign track and its specific requirements to gain progress, why not remove the Free Track entirely? Handing out lumps of coal several times each week is just going to annoy everybody, for free players it’s wasted effort, for paying players it’s useless stuffing. If the intention is to have all players participate, put something useful in there, even if it’s only located towards the end.
The orbs of glory tasks was a nice touch but i dont know what they were thinking with the delvs cards as a task reward. Absolute waste of time that one
They probably think that less active players need ginormous delve hoards to complete factions at level 500, especially “pure faction” runs. And that getting hoards to that point require an enormous number of treasure troops (plus tons of Gold).
Of course, treasure troops are like so many other resources that aren’t worth chasing beyond a certain point.
Wait till you progress with campaign tasks, there are two silver tasks that hand out 100 jewel shards each. I’d say they first considered putting a single gold coin there, until their lead designer pointed out something even more worthless. Unfortunately, they probably laid off the only people who knew something about the game, whoever sets up campaign rewards now probably goes by how flashy the reward icons look.
I reached the GOLD award, and I DID NOT RECEIVE a book (neither red, nor blue, nor any other color). That is, the most valuable prizes: gifts and books are simply not given out. This is absolute horror!!!
