New Bounty Troop: Ocularen Egg Ocularen Egg from Darkstone, is this weekend’s Bounty Captain. Ocularen Egg will be available in the Bounty Shop, and will appear in Gold, Glory and Guild chests in 3-4 weeks’ time.
Finally something a bit different to the bounty troops…
The ocularen egg. Raw dead weight. As usual, thanks for nothing.
So, anybody figured out yet which troops qualify as “random Ocularen” for summoning? And whether that is a static list that will never get updated again or some pool that grows as more Ocularen get added to the game?
In one E12 battle where all I did was use Wand of Stars and Sacrifice to sacrifice the last slot, I saw all 5 of the All Seeing Eye troops, but was not able to summon a copy of itself.
Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if it just copies whatever Jar of Eyes can do in the future.
Different, but completely passive.
Maybe they are now using that space to display in-game hints? You know, something like “Match gems to collect mana for your troops”.
Can we please have an official list of troops that count as “ocularen”?
Why do players have to figure out such things by themselves?
I kept doing mass destroy with thrall and sacrificing festival cow so that I could summon in a new troop. I was able to get the ocularen egg to summon every All-Seeing Eye troop, except for itself (despite it having “ocularen” in its title).
Ocularen egg should probably summon itself because of its vague description, but it has the same issue as Queen Moonclaw. She should technically be able to summon The Lord of Slaughter because he is a gnoll, but I remember that the community asked about this issue and it never got resolved.
I figure this stuff out of boredom, but a much more clear spell description stating, “summon a random All-Seeing Eye troop” is much better.
Isn’t there a longstanding history that a random summoner will not summon a copy of itself? Like how Dragon Eggs do not summon more Dragon Eggs (…right?) .
Horned hag self-summons. At the time it was speculated it is b/c the pool of “hag” troops is small. But there aren’t very many ocularens either so who knows where the lines are drawn
The longstanding history is that players can only figure out which ones can and can’t summon themselves by play testing
Play testing is also required to figure out who else is in the summoning pool at all, since the descriptions are not actual troop types you can sort in the filter
For example, If you search for “ocularen,” it leaves out Xerodar
If you search “gnoll,” it leaves out like half of them
Can you tell I think these troops are annoying
Yeah, there are weird troops types in this game that don’t have a classification. We can even throw Isban summoning “books” in there.
Tassarion uses a book, but he isn’t a book, so he can’t be summoned because…I’m going to stop right there.
Some things in this game…No, many things don’t make sense in this game and we have to conduct a full blown investigation to figure out what’s going on. It’s sadly part of the reason why I am still here.
That offer with is worth $100! Zomg! What a deal!
