My understanding was that Tower of Doom events are not dependant on the Kingdom, so they don’t always match

However, the community was never able to verify this, so it might as well not exist. The same post also contains one other prominent false claim, making the whole announcement highly dubious.

Not that I’m planning to spend any Event Keys, but as a public service…
… are we going to have another “Weaver-gate” situation where only the one mythic is available in Event Key chests between now and reset on Friday morning? Because I cannot recall us having this explicit scenario since then, when the “kingdom of the week” matches the kingdom of the mythic released the Friday immediately previous.

The fact that I’m the first to complain about how 
this guild wars week is speaks volumes. GoW community has become silent not of enjoyment but because they have given up hope.
For the love of God less restrictions = more enjoyment, not less.
Here’s an idea, 1 vs 4 matches in guild wars. Hard to see the difference when I have to use sucky troops but the AI defense can be an unstoppable loop. I don’t expect the best minds in the world to give up cancer cures to focus on a video game being fun. Just 1% more effort then the zero percent used right now is all I ask please.

I liked swords edge. Liked sin of maraj.
But forest of thorns. Sucks a big fat one. No fun at all.
No synergy, with troops and weapons.
No way to build a good team. Even the immortal is pants.
Green Seer is a cheap-and-easy way to quickly fill most of FoT’s heavy hitters. Just saying.

Il try that tomorrow. The problem is. Sll the heavy hitters are green. So you fill 1. He hits. Then your waiting.
I tried a troll. It works. But using the dragon and any other. is still 3 hits to kill enemy.
Just not happening.
The team I went with today? A relatively hassle-free 5-0, albeit against lackluster competition?
Hero in the lead spot with the blue/brown exploder weapon that summons/buffs FoT troops. Archer where I could, but mostly Elementalist for the 3rd trait. (I don’t like using Elementalist like that, but it’s necessary in this game mode.)
Green Seer at #2.
Yasmine’s Chosen at #3. I didn’t always cast her immediately when she filled, if I had the option to cast one of the other non-Hero troops to loop some more. I did try to cast her when the board already had a fair amount of Green with the idea that I’d loop her a few times.
Alderfather at #4. I like the double converters (for board control, which is my thing) and I use them a fair amount. Also, because he summons, and because he also has an entangle-on-match trait. (Running three separate entangle-ish traits helps with survivability against skyfalling skulls.)
Yes, it can take several casts from Yasmine’s Chosen to kill the opposition team and that can be an issue if she isn’t looping. (Because time, inefficiency, and how it impacts GW scoring.) But that wasn’t my only significant damage source.
Forest of Thorns is a pretty wretched kingdom for Guild Wars. But some of them just happen to be that way. They can’t all be Chrysantherax/Stellaris/Takshaka/Zarg spam.
