Better Accessibility to Useful Pets

Hello everyone,

To start, I’ll say that I play the game on the Nintendo Switch, I’m level 1100+, and I’m in a great Guild.

I’ve also been stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to acquiring “useful” / buff-related Pets and as time has passed, I’m getting increasingly discouraged.

Notably, for the Nintendo Switch, I can’t use any of the PC/mobile streamer codes!

==========

For your consideration:

For the Players (perhaps at around my level?) who are still missing (0 copies!) a lot of the older and more “useful” Pets, can we please be given a personal option during our weekly (and PvP Pet Rescue) to rescue a non-cosmetic Pet until we’re more caught up?

I can’t choose a “useful” Pet if they don’t show up in my own PvP Pet Rescues.

I have a lot of Orbs of Minions to spend to help myself out, but I can’t spend them if I don’t have the Pets to spend them on.

So, I / we just need ONE copy! Just ONE!

Please and thank you!

==========

I won’t speak for anyone else, but as we’ve gotten more and more cosmetic Pets (either through events or Pet Rescues), it’s become increasingly difficult for me to get the “useful” Pets.

The more recent addition of being able to choose a Pet during PvP-triggered Pet Rescue has given more choice (thank you!), but here’s the thing:

Because I’m in a strong Guild with players who have played a lot longer than I have, there is a big disparity between what Pets they need and what Pets I need (which makes sense!).

For example, while I STILL don’t have a single Moon Moon (an older Pet who gives a bonus to Souls), a good majority of my guildies already do (if not Mythic level) and therefore have less reason to choose it during Pet Rescue…

And it’s the same for color bonuses and kingdom bonuses and really, ANY Pet that was released earlier on in the game before we got inundated with cosmetic Pets.

EDIT:

I don’t and won’t fault players - especially my very awesome guildies! - for choosing what pets they do. It all makes perfect sense.

But for this exact reason, I am wishing / hoping for a more Player-tailored solution to address the situation.

I know it’s a solution, but I really don’t want to leave my Guild to get my Pets. :frowning:

So, if I could better help myself during my own PvP Pet Rescues (or have an option to choose during our weekly), then that on its own would be great.

Whether they listen or not, I just want to offer a little advice, in case it’s something you’re not aware of.
Obviously, if you get the pet rescue, you get to pick the pet, so it’s best for you to try and start the pet rescue events and be able to pick pets you need. One way to do this, really easily, is during vault weekends, when pet gnomes are much easier to find. As long as there isn’t a pet rescue already in progress, you can start a Gnome-A-Palooza (GAP) and do one or two battles in PvP at the lowest difficulty (the left option), which should get you a pet gnome. You can then beat it and start a pet rescue with you getting the pet you want (of the three offered). You can then move to low level explore and spend the rest of the 15 minutes of the GAP doing battles for rewards, then go do the pet rescue when the GAP ends. If you have good timing, and your guild doesn’t mind, you can do this a bunch of times, and get several pets you need (as long as you have enough verses).

I think them adding the option to pick between three pets was a great addition, and it made it so much easier to get pets you need, and upgrade them. If they can keep making changes like that, it’d be great. But in the meantime, hope you can find more of the ones you need. Good luck.

Before pet rescue rework, cosmetic pets could not be found in pet gnome pet rescue. So the more successful your guild is, the more likely your guild mates have collected all useful pets. Therefore, during pet rescues they now start, they are more likely to choose cosmetic pets they don’t have yet.

To catch up, you’d either join a not-so-advanced guild, that members share desire of selecting useful pets (meaning, they also don’t have those yet). Or as Zuul-Emo said, start more pet rescue yourself.

I’ve tried what you suggested, but admittedly, GAPs have been a challenge as well because I keep running short of a certain Verse.

And when I do get my own Pet Gnome, the options have been cosmetic only as well.

The latter situation is mostly why I wish there were a more personal option.

I understand my guildies’ situation and don’t want things to negatively impact them and I don’t and won’t fault them for their choices.

My main frustration is related to the solution you suggested.

Even when I do my own Pet Rescues, I’m also not getting non-cosmetic choices.

So honestly, I just wish that my own Pet Rescues would give me more useful options in the here and now.

Are you saying you’re only getting cosmetic pets? That shouldn’t be. You’re supposed to get to choose between a buff pet, a cosmetic pet and one other pet that could be buff or cosmetic.

Yea prolly just exaggerating.

I read your op n it does sound like a legit problem tho.

One thing ill say is “useful pet” is kinda like saying unsmelly turd.

Not very many ARE useful

Glad you named moon moon at least

I honestly have.

Not every time, but I have definitely gotten cosmetic-only choices before in PvP Pet Rescues. And not just me, but another guildie who was trying to help me with my pets has had that happen, too.

If I wasn’t seeing cosmetic-only choices, then I wouldn’t be posting here in the first place.

But given what you said, then I guess I need to file a ticket.

I’m honestly not.

If I was consistently seeing buff-related Pets in my personal PvP Pet Rescue choices (apparently like I should be?) then I wouldn’t have posted about the PvP Rescues.

That said, I’ve come to realize that I’m in an awkward situation where I started this game a long while ago, put it down, played it on and off, and then finally joined a Guild and kept playing regularly.

I probably screwed myself over for both Pets and Weapons because of it.

Edit: By useful, I meant buff-related - thank you; my brain blanked on how to describe them.
