some practical joker thought combining Entangle and Devour was a good idea.
best part of devour is gaining the attack… which you can’t gain when an enemy is entangled.
Yeah this is very bad. He should have a boost to his devour on entangled enemies so we could at least choose a non entangled troop.
Still, will you consider 60% insta-kill on entangled target a good spell? If so, 60% devour on it is almost as good, if not better.
Pity devour doesn’t absorb the enemy’s Magic stat, otherwise this would’ve been a passable Mythic. The only thing Sharktopus is good for is being a back meatshield.
I’m not convinced this mythic has a 60% rate either, but I’m not willing to do 10 billion casts to confirm it just to have someone say it’s not enough sample size.
Devour also has more immunities like Fortitude. I’d rather have insta-kill.
Do you use a random RNG to create troops? The new mythic is just bad. A devour on entangled is just illogical. Entangled removes the attack. Or does the team not understand the game?
I am pretty sure that for CPU the troop has a hidden 80% insta-kill, if not more. For human it may be hidden down to 40%.
Makes me think of the delve days when Irongut used to fail 5 times in a row when I had over 80% chance to devour with the stats back then.
Now we have a 50% chance to entangle a troop trait or a full cast first in order to get 60%? And like someone already said you can’t steal the attack stat of an entangled enemy.. Kudos to whoever came up with this.
Maybe i’m wrong, but as Sharktopus is the new mythic since Friday and now we have Blackhawk week, wasn’t there a weird scenario in the past (Ghulvania maybe?) with new mythic and corresponding kingdom week falling at the same time?
would mean you can only get Sharktopus from event keys right now until Friday and no other Blackhawk mythic?
Is this fixed or do we have to warn people?
No, it is in all the chests it’s intended to be in. You can also see in global chat multiple people have collected Sharktopus as well.
that is not an answer @Jeto (and you know I really like you)
the question is: Is Sharktopus the only Blackhawk mythic in event keys until Friday?
Ah sorry, I read it just as
without the rest of it
leave it with me, ill look into when we last mentioned Mythics releasing the days before their Kingdom week
Okay, I found it. It’s been so long since a mythic lined up
I’m already chasing up how the in-game news works, because I think it is a default line of text, so it doesn’t vary based on if a Mythic is releasing before it’s Kingdom week. As in, it doesn’t auto update to include it’s exclusive in all chests, including Event chests when mythic and kingdom weeks align
I’ve also updated the blog in the meantime, and also let our Prod team know to look out for future instances where this happens.
edit: I also just checked the game guide on Mythic troops and it looks like it wasn’t missing from there - it does mention Mythics will be exclusive to all chests during a Mythic’s kingdom week
many thanks @Jeto , so we have to tell people not going for i.e. Sycorax before Friday
I’ll also try to make note so I can also double check before those Mythics release and poke at the team about it
edit: the team are working on updating the in-game text as well.
Dang, wish I read this thread before spending 2K event keys. Thanks for the information, Jeto! ![]()
To be fair, I read it the same as you.
Not happy. Need Megavore, got a 2nd Sharktopus, which is not a very well thought out mythic. Definitely no need for a 2nd one.
Yes the in game message needs to be updated when there’s an overlap like this.
This feels like a lot of effort to support an obscure edge case that doesn’t really make sense and nobody is really aware of. Temporarily changing parts of the text won’t help, anybody playing for a couple of months will have developed enough blindness to not even notice if it said the troop can’t be obtained in any way. What this would need is an extra confirmation button when opening event chests, to make players aware that they are gambling for something entirely different than they are expecting.
Not trying to be controversial, wouldn’t it be easier to just drop this special rule and let event chests behave the same way throughout the year? From player perspective, it’s a well hidden trap with the sole purpose of causing as much irrevertible damage as possible. The game should definitely be able to do better than that.
Out of curiosity, if the text doesn’t get reverted by the time the next mythic is released, will players receive a refund for event chests opened in search of that mythic?
