8.8 Patch Notes

Not every guild has 30 active members not to speak of young guilds, 27 active players rule has been stated long ago

Any news about mobile tribute and pet rescue notifications? Will it be fixed at 8.9 or 9.0?

So you as a Guild purchase, say, 6 Guardian Boosts - so in 6 battles, your defending Guild Guardian teams will be at those boosted levels for those 6 battles, as they are all consumed.

As you have purchased 6 Boosts, you unlock 2 Guardian Blessing for your Guilds attacking teams. These last the whole weekend.

editing in: you can purchase up to 150 Guardian boosts, but the Guardian blessing bonus goes to 135.. feedback around this was already shared

It was just missed as this addition of Bleed Gems replacing Terror Gems came later in the development process for this update

The cap is related to the max amount of defenders you can have.

There is such a long list of suggestions and changes being worked on, that with every update***,*** I imagine there will be comments about “Oh, I wanted X in this update”.
The remainder of this year is focused on existing content, which is why Bastians are now a next year addition.
Also, as there is more feedback from each update, that list just grows, and there is only so much time to get content into these updates before the next releases. Especially at the moment the window between updates is real small.

It doesn’t appear like it. They say it’s a bug, but since they can’t monetize it I believe they no longer thinks it’s cost beneficial to pay a 3rd party company to remind mobile players to play Gems of War.

The tribute notification that randomly occurs but only after you open the game is probably done in house. Pet notifications just made too much sense I guess. But again, not cost efficient. :man_shrugging:

I don’t have a list of whats planned for 8.9 or 9.0 fixes. Notifications is one of the top things I am trying to push for.. along with a number of other items that were meant to be resolved in 8.8

To that, there are a number of tech debt tasks we are required to complete in the next few updates which have taken a chunk of what little capacity we have. The unfortunate effect of that is, some fixes and changes we want to make an release, get pushed out.

I know the notification issue is one of the older ones, and it appears to not be an easy fix from what the team have explained to me. They are aware though and do want to get it sorted, but these tech changes have push that task back.

@jeto

As i read here - the bonuses aplyes to attack teams, but the rest of the text told us that the boosts aply to a guardians.

Tell us please, who will get the boosts -a team with a guardian (at a gate and if noone set a defence in some building) OR to the attack team? It’s very important.

So, level 70 boost make a guardian lvl 70 instead of 20 for a 1 fight?

If a guild members bought 3 any boosts - everyone will get a +1 stat for a whole GW and it will not decrease after a boosts are consumed?

Yes, that is correct.

Thank you. It’s important information that i have missed reading the patchnotes. One more question - when will 8.8 implements? Before or after the GW with a red restrictions?

Yes definitely. Next GW is not till mid September and 8.8 is pending release next week at the moment.
There may be a delay for Switch, some issues with submission at the moment

So bying 150 boost will give a guild 50 blessings or only 45 because of boost cap?

You can buy 150 Guardian Team boosts, but your Guardian Blessings are capped at 135 Boosts purchased - so 45 Blessings

So, a side effect of this new mechanic is that the easier Gate battle that lower level players used to be able to beat for their individual rewards track victories, has now possibly become out of reach for them too?

Not sure this will increase those players’ participation..

..unless the whole “18 victories for rewards” is changed to “18 battle fought”, or the attack restrictions are made optional like they used to be.

Don’t worry.

It’s not a kingdom restriction anymore, it’s just red.

So the gate, is now made out of straw, as the littlest piggy said.

If anything, this change will affect lower level guilds the most. Higher level guilds will mainly have players that can beat a level 70 team, even in a kingdom with terrible choices. Lower level guilds will have more players that won’t beat that. Sure, those guilds are less likely to have silver marks to burn on guild wars, but any that do will make the mode way more difficult at that level. And +11 to all stats won’t make a big difference at any level, I’d guess.

This would actually be a great change. Right now, guild war rewards pull players in two directions - getting wins vs scoring high. If you want to guarantee wins, you play the easiest battles. If you want to try and get the best score, you pick harder battles and think more tactically. Those don’t go together well. If it was just playing battles, you’d pick tactically and not worry about losing a battle necessarily - sure it’ll lower your score, but it was worth a risk and you still get all the rewards.

Wait, seriously?

Hadn’t seen this. Have they changed that permanently or just for the next guild war?

That’s the upcoming forced restriction, we don’t know what happens beyond that..

..whereas giving us back the ability to Choose to follow the restrictions for bonus points would solve many of the current GW complaints (and possibly the participation dip our casual guild has experienced since the rework)
