6.9 Update: Trials of the Conqueror

So why is this pop up still suggesting we can reroll tasks?
We’re almost five weeks in after the update and on the fifth week of the current campaign.

I dont like the campaign rework no reroll option and its week 5 and pretty much every week has a pvp task or 2 in it i dont pvp and im not spending the ridiculous amount of gems to clear the tasks. I guess they dont get cleared out now the funny thing is i didnt have this problem with the old setup the campaigns always got completed and if it was a pvp reroll the gem cost was reasonable to pay to skip. Well I doubt this will get fixed so thanks i can stop playing Gems of War sooner now. Wheres the banners/mob type/class type from that kingdom week?

PS It seems like you just want people to spend the gem currency to me !!! I’ll spend them on the star pets thats worth it.

This is definitely a problem. Previously there was an expectation that you wouldn’t see any repeat tasks during any specific week – there was more than enough variety to pick 16 unique tasks.

Now, with only 3 tasks per week there is a similar, reasonable expectation that there should not be any duplicate tasks between at least consecutive weeks (but ideally at all).

This being said – we simply don’t know the full pool of tasks that are available to pick from, anyone want to help log the data here? (I’ve started that for Switch at least, but…)

I brought this up before. Some people cant or won’t do pvp for 1 reason or another and the previous campaign format had options for every player, whereas now you do whats asked or pay more gems to skip the task.

A lot of the super endgame players really only do pvp anyway so of course this works for them and who cares about anyone else.

Are you counting Glory tasks as PVP tasks since the only glory that counts is that earned from PVP?

I can’t see what was wrong with the original version. If you didn’t like a task, you could reroll it to one you could complete passively. It was a bit annoying to have to go back constantly to collect tasks before a new one triggered, but I can think of more annoying things. Like that when in the “games” interface - if you close a window it takes you back to the main screen instead of back to the games menu- I mean on the minor annoyances scale

You can do it with Casual PvP and then just keep refreshing the battles until you get a 4 x Firebomb or Coin Purse battle.

(Don’t forget to set your Defenders to a team like those too :+1: )

[Edited, Firebomb, not Freibomb…! ]

From my understanding it was too difficult to go back to that screen to click complete and then it was also too hard to do the large number of fights necessary if you chose to reroll, as well as the huge pain of doing a few explore runs in a specific kingdom. The whole process just took too much time to do and you wrrent able to complete it by just hanging out in pvp all the time.

One legitimate concern, i guess was that anyone who had delve conpleted could not do “Complete a delve at level 90” for example without doing a 500 run. Which if you ask me is also not a concern, if you have all delves complete just do a quick 3 fights in City of Thieves or something and its done so i again i dont understand that one.

All seems a bit weird, as we could reroll until we got something like “kill brown enemies”, or w/e. I rerolled a ton of them b/c I had no clue who some of the named enemies were, had no keys, was too low level for the delves (I didn’t even know what a deep delve was, lol), etc.

The new version is better because you don’t have to go back all the time.

But we’re forced into a mode some people hate which we were promised wouldn’t happen.

Just drop glory and pvp task and let people kill enemies (of certain types/colors). Problem solved.

Or bring back reroll.

Why is it that people don’t play PvP? This is genuine question? Is there some particular reason or do people just hate to lose or waste time on a game mode they don’t like or something?

Low reward payout

I personally find it boring. I play it, but only until I get to tier 1.

Pet gnomes have become so rare for me that it doesn’t even make sense anymore to play for those.

Explore gives me medals, pvp gives me next to nothing. So if I grind, I grind explore.

Generally, people don’t like to be forced to play specific game modes.

Ah that makes sense! In a way…

It pays pretty solid gold and glory, and the occasional pet gnome also could help.

I play it to Tier 1 too and that’s it, for me it’s also very boring and not that rewarding either.

But I don’t have a problem to play few extra matches to get the tasks done etc.

Glory is not important to me. After this latest vault weekend i have almost 900k…i doubt many people are farming glory in pvp, especially since the community is constantly complaining about the drop rate from glory chests.

Personally for me pvp is incredibly boring. The match system is broken and im not really into fighting Great Wyrm/Eye of Arges/Todd/Seekra/Chalcedony teams on repeat all day. The reason i do it is to complete the task and get those keys, even though the drop rate sucks.

The people i know who do pvp do it so people can see their name on the leader board but this may just be my experience.

I have heard others get anxiety from pvp. Even though it isn’t technically player vs player that dynamic can cause some issue i suppose. I do know some players that refuse to even open the pvp menu but i also know other players that don’t open any sort of delve menu other than that required for acquiring troops. One could say that pvp provides no actual player advancement unlike delves and i do see both sides.

Besides the fact that I hate pvp (especially ranked), I don’t need keys or glory because I already have plenty, and all regular pets are maxed. Therefore, I don’t even bother with going for tier 1. I feel that time would be better spent in explore. I’ll only do casual pvp for class leveling or for campaign, though I agree 100% with getting rid of pvp and glory tasks.

I don’t mind PVP, although it seems there’s about 5 different teams just repeated over and over. But, I only do them to Tier 1, and then RARELY do anymore.
I also do periodic glory dumps as they are a great way to get more gold (help my guild with LT week) and gems (as they are a glory chest drop). I usually wait until I have 300K or so and then spend them on the next mythic Friday.
However, that’s me, and I agree that there should be a re-roll option (at least one).

PvP in this game is okay for me, as the AI does it and no one cares if you win or lose. Normal PvP gives me hardcore anxiety as I can’t cope with the toxically competitive nature and playing games is a way to get away from that. I use it to try out different teams to see if they are worth bothering with, and also to level up classes (which means many losses - but who cares). It is mostly the same defences over and over though, it spits out the same opponents ad nauseam making you feel like you are being vindictive, and the rewards for getting a high weekly rank are utterly abysmal.

I do farm glory as I have hardly any base mythics, and those I do have are mostly useless. I spend it as I get it. OFC if I already had all/most troops and all at mythic, I would not bother - this probably depends upon how long a person has been playing, and like souls might require some thought from the devs.

However, I vastly preferred the old Campaign. I’d rather have to check the Campaign window regularly than be stuck with 3 uninteresting tasks that complete themselves. Might as well just scrap it and send us rewards by mail for completing x battles like the pet levelling system at this point.
