6.2 Beta Program [CLOSED]

Hey all!

It’s that time… time for our Beta to return!

To register your interest, please answer the following questions in your email application. As we typically receive a lot of applications, please keep your answers brief and to the point.

  • Your invite code! Please make sure to include this in your email.
  • How long have you been playing the game?
  • What are your favourite game modes?
  • Do you speak any additional languages?
  • What device/s do you play on?
  • What do you think makes you a good fit for the beta?

All beta testing discussion is carried out over Discord, so if you are interested, please make sure you have Discord downloaded on your PC or mobile.

Accepting applications over the weekend and then we’ll choose our testers during the following week.

We want to make sure there are some fresh testers with each update, and some old testers may be invited to participate again. We always endeavour to reply to everyone, whether accepted or not, but if you don’t hear back we apologise and you haven’t been chosen for this round of the beta program.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Please be aware that at this time the beta is only open to Steam players.

Will doing the beta mess up our current build in any way? Will beta-related items/troops be removed from our accounts when the beta is over?

The beta pulls an old copy of your game and is an entirely different instance. Nothing you do on beta affects you or your guild on the live servers. You can choose to play the beta or live when you boot from Steam.

Will I be compensated in any way?

Lol

We’re lucky it’s still free to participate and there’s not a “beta pass”.

Short answer: PQ3 does allow for monetization in beta, unlike GoW betas.

Spoilering rest of post for those who do not want to see discussion of PQ3, as it is off-topic to the thread.

I had a long post written out about you are more right than you realize with your comment. But then, I remembered the idiom “a picture is worth a thousand words”.

Those VIP subscription and battle pass fees add up fast.

That said, as a disclaimer, PQ3 beta testers are not required to spend anything in the game’s early access / beta phase.

Conversely, IMO, F2P life is miserable in PQ3 and the social pressures of keeping up with the Joneses on equipment/gear is not yet fully present in the game because of a lack of Guild content. However, part of the beta would be testing the advantages players who purchase microtransactions have over F2P players, which are very substantial.

Unlike GoW betas (where monetization is disabled and actions performed on beta do not affect a player’s live account), PQ3 beta accounts are considered to be fully live accounts and all monetization is in play. And no, we do not receive any premium currency compensation (Crowns) from the devs for participating in the beta if we choose to engage with various monetization features.

There is too much that doesn’t work currently. Fix your game before moving on.
Its become tripe.

Wouldn’t it be better to have beta testers on all platforms? I’m sure there would be fewer bugs!

Hey @Willow

Currently, we are only able to share testing builds over Steam, should that change in future we would open the BETA up to more platforms.

You can only do beta tests on PC…in 2022.

Bull. There’s gotta be a reason you only ever test PC.
